PACE to hold OPEN HOUSE on planned “Pulse” express bus service on Milwaukee Avenue

Information about the new “PULSE” express bus service planned for Milwaukee Avenue between the Jefferson Park CTA Terminal and the Golf Mill shopping center in Niles will be available at an Open House hosted by PACE from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wed., April 22, at the Niles Park District Oasis Water Park, 7877 N. Milwaukee.
The arterial bus raid transit line, which will use existing traffic lanes on Milwaukee, will have several bus stops, with a shelter and raised platform. The buses will offer WiFi and feature technology that can alter the timing of traffic signals to help buses stay on time.
Currently that stretch of Milwaukee is served by Pace Route 270, which has stops every couple of blocks, but under the “Pulse” limited-stop program, pickups and dropoffs will be made every half-mile at designated stops that will be built next year along sidewalks and parkway. The PACE Pulse line, which will start in 2017, will include stops in Chicago on Milwaukee at Central, Austin/Ardmore and Haft/Highland. The PACE 270 will continue to operate after the Pulse line starts.
More information is available at PaceBus.com/Pulse.
