The 16th (Jefferson Park) Police District recently presented a commendation to a 4-year-old girl for saving her mother’s life.
Looney said that Suejeily Koval suffered a severe asthma attack and fell unconscious on March 10 while playing with her daughter Aria inside their Jefferson Park home. Aria then dialed 911, placed a blanket on her mom and waited by the front door for police.
Aria said that her mother had taught her to call 911 in an emergency. “I remembered,” she said while surrounded by several members of the media.
“I’m so proud of her,” Koval said.
Aria accompanied Looney on an inspection of officers during an afternoon roll call at the district station, 5151 N. Milwaukee Ave. She dismissed the officers at the end of the inspection.
