Teen arrested in Burger King stabbing, also in 16th District, dozen vehicles stolen, burglar suspect arrested

A 17-year-old suspect is in custody after he reportedly stabbed a worker three times at about 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Burger King, 6400 W. Irving Park Road, according to Chicago police.

The suspect reportedly was upset about a Sponge Bob meal he had received from the restaurant a couple days earlier and returned on Friday to talk to an employee, according to police. The situation reportedly escalated, and a male worker was stabbed once in the chest area and twice in the back, police said.

The suspect left the restaurant, but officers were able to locate him a short time later, and he was arrested, police said.

The worker was transported to Advocate Lutheran Hospital and is now in stable condition and is expected to be released, police said.

Also in the 16th District on Chicago’s Northwest Side:

Twelve motor vehicle thefts were reported between about 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, and about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

Thefts were reported in the 5500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, the 4400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, the 8500 block of West Higgins Road, the 3500 block of North Natchez Avenue, the 5300 block of North Northwest Highway, the 6400 block of West Roscoe Street, the 5900 block of West Byron Street, the 3900 block of North Marmora Avenue, the 3800 block of North Newland Avenue, the 5100 block of West Addison Street, the 7800 block of West Higgins Avenue and in the 4000 block of North Meade Avenue, according to police.

Also, a man was arrested after he allegedly burglarized the garage of a home in the 6000 block of West Warwick Avenue between about 5 and 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

A resident reported that he was coming home from work when he saw a man exiting his garage with several items, according to police. The man reported that the man allegedly put the items into a silver Chrysler, apologized and fled in the Chrysler, police said.

While officers were investigating, the resident pointed out the man after he returned to the scene on foot and officers detained him after a brief foot pursuit, according to police.

A search revealed the man possessed keys to the Chrysler and a search of the vehicle identification number revealed the vehicle was registered to the suspect, according to police.

The suspect was identified by police as James Pasqua, age 40, of the 12100 block of McDaniels Court in Alsip, IL.

Also in the district, a man reported that four men stole tools from his vehicle at about 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, while it was parked in the 5800 block of West Berenice Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The man reported that he heard his vehicle’s alarm, went outside and saw four men breaking into his vehicle, according to police. The man reported that he yelled at the men and one of them pointed a handgun with a green laser attachment at him, police said.

The man reported that the men fled north on Marmora Avenue toward Irving Park Road in a white Hyundai Genesis sedan, according to police. The man discovered the men broke the front driver’s side window and tried to access the cargo area but were not successful, police said. The man reported that the rear “slick lock” valued at $3,000 was sawed off and tools valued at $2,000 were missing, according to police.

The man who pointed the handgun was described as White/Hispanic and 5-9, and wearing a black ski mask and brown overalls. Officers canvassed the area and discovered another vehicle on the block was also burglarized, according to police. Officers noted that the passenger side window was broken, the side door of the vehicle was open and several tools were outside of the vehicle on the ground, police said.
