Woman robbed at Gompers Park; attempted carjacking reported in Sauganash; shots fired in police lot

A woman reported that two men robbed her at about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.


The 21-year-old woman reported that she was walking her dog on the north trail of South Gomp- ers Park when two men walked up behind her wearing ski masks, and one of the men pressed the barrel of a handgun into her back, demanded her belongings in Spanish and took her handbag containing $250 cash, according to police.


The woman reported that the other man then held a knife to her abdomen and took a gold chain from her neck, then punched her once in the face, police said.

The woman reported that the men fled west, according to police. The man with the handgun was described as White/Hispanic age 18 and 6-0, and wearing a black jacket, black pants and black gym shoes. The man with the knife was described as White/Hispanic, age 18 to 30 and 5-7, and wearing a brown shirt and blue shorts.

A man reported that his vehicle was shot after two men tried to carjack him at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, in the 4000 block of West Peterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.

The 61-year-old man reported that he drove east on Peterson and waited at a red light when two men exited a white Bronco, pointed handguns at him and attempted to open the doors of his vehicle, according to police.

The man reported that he reversed and fled when the men fired several shots at his vehicle, police said. The man reported that his vehicle was shot on the front left side and the two men fled south on Pulaski Road, according to police.

The two men were described as Black and wearing black skI masks.

A man reported that another man fired shots at his car at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, as he drove into the parking lot of the 17th (Albany Park) District police station, 4650 N. Pulaski Road, according to police.

Officers at the station heard four shots fired and saw a man running north on Pulaski toward the station, according to police.

The 25-year-old man reported that he dropped off his children at his mother’s house when the driver of a black Audi Sport utility vehicle began following his vehicle, police said. The man reported that the Audi chased him south on Kimball from Sunnyside to Irving Park, west on Irving to Elston, northwest on Elston to Pulaski, then north on Pulaski, according to police. The man reported that he was trying to get to the station and the driver of the Audi fired several shots as he turned into the parking lot, police said. Officers said that there were three bullet holes in the rear lift gate of the man’s vehicle, as well as one bullet hole on the right corner of his rear bumper, according to police. No injuries were reported and officers recovered four spent 40-caliber shell casings from the street, police said.
