Area assults reported

Two women reported that a man attempted to sexually assault them in separate incidents on bike trails in the area.
A woman reported that as she was running on the bike path in Bunker Hill Woods at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, a man who was riding a bicycle asked her if she was alone and then attempted to pull her off the trail, according to police.
An off-duty Chicago police officer reported that a similar incident occurred as she was jogging on the Sauganash Trail path near Sauganash Park at about 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.
The woman reported that a man who was riding a bicycle grabbed her from behind, forced her to the ground and attempted to remove her clothes, according to police. The woman said that she shouted for help and fought off the man and that he fled south on the path, police said.
The man was described as white/Hispanic, age 22 to 26, 5-7 and 140 to 150 pounds, and wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.
