Arrest reported last month in connection with gunfire that hit 2 Edison Park homes on Christmas

A Park Ridge man was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in connection with reported gunfire that damaged two Edison Park homes on Christmas, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The suspect was arrested at his home in the 500 block of South Northwest Highway, where a search warrant had been executed, according to police.

The suspect, who was identified by police as Timothy P. Bauschard, age 46, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm/occupied building, police said. He was not released after his arrest and was ordered to be held in jail, police said.

Surveillance footage from area homes assisted with the investigation, police said.

The gunfire appeared to be random and not directed toward a specific person or property, and the incident appears to be isolated, police said.

The gunfire was reported to have occurred between 9:20 and 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, in the 6800 block of North Overhill Avenue and the 6800 block of North Oriole Avenue, police said.

It is believed that the gunshots came from an individual standing outside on Overhill, and one of the bullets traveled about a block in the air to the home on Oriole, police said.

A homeowner on Oriole reported that he heard a loud bang and then found a bullet hole in a bedroom wall, according to police.

The homeowner also reported that a family member was in the bedroom at the time of the incident but that no one was injured, police said. A shell casing was found in the area, police said.

Officers also reported that while canvassing the area they saw a bullet hole in a door of a home on Overhill and that a shell casing was recovered in nearby bushes, police said.
