Burglaries, road-rage incident reported in 16th (Jefferson Park) Police District on Chicago’s NW Side

A woman reported that several items were stolen from her vehicle at about 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, while it was parked in the 5600 block of West Goodman Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she returned to her vehicle, discovered the steering wheel column was damaged, a screwdriver was left on the floor of the vehicle and several items were missing, including her driver’s license, insurance cards. five debit cards, a guitar and a handicap placard, according to police. The woman reported that her new license plates and registration also were missing, police said.
A woman reported that a man threatened her with a hatchet at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, April 19, in the 5500 block of North Oakview Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 55-year-old woman reported that she was driving west on Summerdale when she saw a man driving recklessly and ignoring stop signs, according to police.
The woman reported that there were many pedestrians present and when she pointed that out to the man, he allegedly retrieved a hatchet from his vehicle and began yelling at her in an unknown language, police said.
The woman reported that the man fled west in a tan Mercedes-Benz, according to police.
The man was described as White, age 55 to 60, 5-11 and 250 pounds, with short gray hair, and wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans.
A man reported that his handgun was stolen from his vehicle between 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, and about 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17, while it was parked in the 4200 block of North Melvina Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that another driver parked the vehicle, left it unlocked and when he returned, he discovered his weapon case containing his 9-millimeter handgun and an empty ammunition magazine was missing from the trunk, according to police.
Two people reported that a woman appeared to be abusing a dog at about 6:50 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at an apartment in the 5600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A witness reported that she was retrieving a package and heard several loud "thumps" and dog yelps from the first floor apartment, according to police.
A man reported that when he left his apartment his dog allegedly didn’t have any injuries and when he returned he observed blood coming from a doơ’s nose, police said.
