Domestic dispute results in fatal stabbing; man taken into custody but no charges expected at this time
A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a domestic-related dispute with another man at about 11:15 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the 6000 block of North Harlem Avenue in Norwood Park, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The men reportedly had been arguing, and one of the them produced a knife and stabbed the other man in the face, according to police. He sustained puncture wounds to his face and was transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where he was later pronounced, police said.
Responding officers placed the other man into custody at the scene, but no charges are expected at this time because they are being considered mutual combatants, according to police.
A knife was recovered, police said.
