Four people were injured in a multi-car crash that occurred at about 7:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, near Touhy and Tripp avenues, according to Lincolnwood police.
A 43-year-old man was driving a 2011 Dodge Charger eastbound in the 4200 block of West Touhy Avenue when it veered into oncoming traffic and struck a Honda CR-V on the driver’s side driven by a 39-year-old man with a 39-year-old male passenger and then struck a Honda Civic head-on driven by a 21-year-old woman with a 29-year-old male passenger, according to police. The impact caused both westbound vehicles to spin out of control and the Charger to roll over and land upside down, police said.
Witnesses reported that the Charger was being driven at a high rate of speed and that the man may have been looking at his cell phone and possibly texting at the time of the crash, according to police.
The driver of the Charger and the 21-year old woman were taken to Saint Francis Hospital, and the two 39-year-old men were taken to Skokie Hospital, police said.
