Jefferson Park Chamber asks residents, merchants to take needs assessment survey
The Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce is asking area residents and merchants to take a community needs assessment survey about the business district.
The chamber plans to use the survey results to help determine the scope of a proposed Special Service Area, which would be funded through the creation of a new taxing body. Property tax revenue from the service area would go toward infrastructure improvements and service enhancements in the commercial area.
Boundaries for the proposed service area are primarily along Milwaukee Avenue between Montrose Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway and along Lawrence Avenue between Austin Avenue and Avondale Avenue. The survey is available at www.jeffersonpark.net.
