Lawrence Austin Holiday Festival
Dear Resident:
Please join us for a holiday festival that will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. this Sat., Nov. 23, at Lawrence and Austin: crafts, carols, raffle, cider, horse-driven carriage rides, free hot chocolate & cider, tree lighting and more. This is a way for us to thank our customers and to showcase how ethnically rich the Lawrence Corridor is.
We have cuisine from Poland , Ireland, Serbia, Mexico, Italy, Chinese & American represented and soon to come Vietnamese. Some restaurants will have free samples. Senator John Mulroe, Aldermen Timothy Cullerton and John Arena will pick the winning tickets for the two $500 scholarships donated by Dr. Parker dentistry who has been a mainstay in our corridor for 29 years. Alderman Cullerton is donating trees that will be placed outside stores. Mr. Handyman is spearheading the event’s construction needs. Thanks to many, including Casablanca Flowers that donated mistletoe, Illinois Nails Salon that donated 10 manicure gift certificates and Lawrence Funeral Home & Kolbus May which is underwriting the event. Six residents from Our Lady of Providence will be our guests of honor. We have received a holiday wish list from the ladies at Providence. To help with the wish list, call Katherine Galvin’s Public House at
