LIFESOURCE RELOCATES DONOR CENTER TO JEFFERSON PARK’S GLADSTONE CORNERS
LIFESOURCE RELOCATES DONOR CENTER TO JEFFERSON PARK’S GLADSTONE CORNERS FOR EASIER ACCESSIBILITY VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
ROSEMONT—JUNE 10, 2014—
To better serve blood donors in the Jefferson Park community, LifeSource this July will open a donor center at 5316 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the Gladstone Corners area.
Summer typically prompts fewer blood donors because of planned vacations and family travel, LifeSource says, so the Chicagoland blood supplier hopes that its relocation from the Portage Park area will boost visibility and opportunities for walk-in donors.
“We look forward to our new Jefferson Park blood donor center opening next month,” says LifeSource Donor Center Director Geri Venable. “This community remains one of Chicago’s gems, and we’re proud to join its ranks of retailers and merchants along historic Milwaukee Avenue.”
Since the Northwest side neighborhoods are adjoining, Venable invites both current Portage Park clients and new clients in Jefferson Park to visit the LifeSource donor center when it opens.
The relocation further north to Jefferson Park, she relates, was prompted by requests from donors for a location more accessible to public transportation. Jefferson Park has long served the area as a transportation hub with a CTA station for buses and the Blue Line, as well as a Metra stop.
“Our donors like that we’re trying to make our donor centers as convenient and accessible as possible,” says Venable. “Our mission is to make donating easy, convenient and readily accessible,” the donor center director adds. “The relocation accomplishes this.”
Donors can schedule their appointment by calling LifeSource at (877) 543-3768 or visiting www.lifesource.org
Along with hosting daily blood drives, LifeSource operates 18 community donor centers and four fixed sites with regular operating days and hours. In preparation for their donation, donors are asked to eat well, stay hydrated and arrive with proper identification.
