Local Crime from 16th District 2-17-18
A TEENAGER was for allegedly stabbing her uncle and cousin at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at a home in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The teenager’s 56-year-old uncle and 28-year-old cousin reported that while they were arguing with the teenager, she attacked them with a knife and stabbed the uncle in the left side of his neck, his left arm and the lower back, and stabbed the cousin in his left shoulder, according to police.
Both men were transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital and treated for serious injuries, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as a 15-year-old female.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in the 4700 block of North Saint Louis Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 70-year-old man reported that while he was walking on the sidewalk a man approached him and grabbed him by his shirt collar, punched him in the face several times and took his wallet containing $100 and his driver’s license, according to police.
The man was transported to Swedish Covenant Hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said.
The suspect was described as black, age 25 to 30 and between 5-7 and 5-8.
A MANAGER of the Walgreens store, 3222 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that a man shoplifted items and threatened a cashier with a knife at about 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The manager reported that a man entered the store, took packages of Nicorette gum and nicotine patches and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items, according to police. The manager reported that when a cashier confronted the man he threatened the cashier with a knife and then exited the store with the items, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 20 to 30, about 5-8 and 150 pounds, and wearing a black knit hat, a black hooded jacket, white and gray camouflage pants and black shoes,
A MAN REPORTED he was robbed at about 9:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, outside the Walgreens store, 4744 W. Belmont Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man reported that after he exited the store, two men approached him and one of the men asked him for a cigarette and the other man punched him in the face and took his watch, Clonazepam medication and $30 in cash from him and fled, according to police.
The men were described as black, age 30, between 160 and 170 pounds, and one of the men was described as 5-10 and wearing a black jacket, black pants and a knit hat, and the other man was described as 6-0 and wearing a plaid jacket with a black hooded jacket underneath and black boots.
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a handgun at about 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the 3300 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that he saw a man choking a woman and that when he approached to intervene, the man pointed a blue steel semi-automatic handgun at him and said, "You wanna get shot, you better keep walking," before he and the woman boarded a CTA bus and rode away, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 25 to 30, about 5-9 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and wearing a green jacket.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the 3900 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that two men approached him, said that they were in a gang and punched him in the face and took his cell phone, according to police.
The men were described as Hispanic and one of the men was wearing a blue jacket, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was burglarized between 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the garage of his residence in the 4700 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his garage he discovered that his vehicle had been entered and that a credit card reader valued at $500 and a pair of sunglasses valued at $80 were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the 4800 block of West Pratt Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers saw a Dodge Grand Caravan traveling 60 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone on Pratt Avenue and stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified as Anton Covasan, age 28, of the 5400 block of North East River Road.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the 3300 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers saw a Buick LaCrosse swerving in the lanes and traveling 50 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone in the 4200 block of Touhy Avenue and that they stopped the vehicle and driver failed to provide valid insurance, failed sobriety testing and was arrested, according to police.
The suspect was identified as Tyshaun Henry, age 38, of the 600 block of Sherwood Court, Romeoville.
