Local Crime from 16th District 1-18-17
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly stole a car and crashed into several parked cars and struck a home at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, in the 4800 block of West Warwick Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 43-year-old man reported that as his 2005 Scion was running in front of his home, the woman entered the car and a second woman attempted to enter, and that when he ran to the car the woman drove away, crashing into parked vehicles and striking a home in the 4900 block of Warwick, according to police. Officers arrested the woman after she got out of the highly damaged vehicle, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Edita Mujkovic, age 18, of the 800 block of West Cornelia Avenue.
A MAN WAS stabbed at about 1:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, in the 3200 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that a man asked him for a cigarette and that when he said that he didn’t have one the man stabbed him in the left forearm, according to police. The man was treated at Community First Medical Center, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the 6100 block of West Eddy Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that when he opened his garage door, a man displayed a handgun and took $3,000, his wallet and his cell phone and fled to a vehicle driven by a second man, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, on a train near the CTA Harlem Blue Line station, 5550 N. Harlem Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that a man attempted to take his backpack and that when he fought back the man punched him in the face and took his pair of gloves, according to police.
A PIZZA delivery driver reported that a man stole his car at about 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, in the 4400 block of North McVicker Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 66-year-old man reported that as he was delivering a pizza a man accosted him and that when he turned to leave the man ran past him and drove away in his 2015 Toyota Corolla, according to police.
A COUPLE reported that a man attempted to rob them at about 8:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the 4400 block of North Melvina Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man and the 61-year-old woman reported that as they were parking their car a man entered through the rear door, grabbed the man by the throat and punched him, then grabbed the woman by the hair and pushed her head into the steering wheel, according to police. The couple reported that the man fled to a waiting car when she screamed for help, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Taco Burrito King, 3216 N. Harlem Ave., reported that he found a dead man in the restroom at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he found the man lying on the restroom floor unresponsive, according to police. The man was pronounced at the scene, police said.
The man was identified by police as Joseph W. Adamcik, age 33, of the 2200 block of North 75th Court, Elmwood Park.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Little Caesars Pizza, 5608 W. Irving Park Road, was burglarized between 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, and 9:15 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he discovered that a panel below a window had been forced open and that an unspecified amount of money was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that money was stolen from his vehicle at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at 4 Seasons Car Wash, 5900 W. Addison St., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that after his car was washed he discovered than an envelope containing $3,000 was missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of Metro PCS, 6350 W. Irving Park Road, reported that a man stole cell phones at about 5:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man cut the wires on four cell phones valued at $2,276 and left with the phones, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that a man exposed himself at about 7:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the 4000 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 16-year-old girl reported that as she was waiting for a bus, a man drove a car near her with his penis exposed, according to police.
