Local Crime from 16th District 11-4-15
A MAN WAS arrested on assault and criminal damage to property charges following an incident at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, outside of the Northwest Liquors store, 5223 W. Addison St., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers were stopped by a witness who reported that a man broke a store window with his fists and was bleeding, according to police. During the arrest the man swung his arms at the officers and threatened them, and he was electrically shocked and arrested, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Dmytro Miroshnyk, age 30, of the 3200 block of North Laramie Avenue.
A TEENAGER reported that he was robbed at about 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, in the 4200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 15-year-old teen reported that two men knocked him to the ground, struck him in the chest and took his cell phone, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, after he allegedly forced his way into an apartment in the 5500 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 38-year-old man reported that his neighbor forced his way into his apartment, woke up his family, object and threatened him with an object in his hand, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Matthew A. Rago, age 23, of the 5500 block of West Irving Park Road.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, in the 3200 block of North Laramie Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 38-year-old man reported that a man placed an object to his back and took his wallet containing $101, according to police. The man said that he and a friend drove found the man at Cornelia and Lockwood avenues and that when they confronted him, the man pushed his 53-year-old companion to the ground and fled, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Saint James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7400 W. Foster Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that he heard a noise in the office and saw a man holding his bag, according to police. The man said that he struggled with the man and that the intruder struck him with an elbow, said that he had a gun, and fled with his wallet containing $550, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the 4800 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 54-year-old man reported that a man pushed him to the ground, displayed a handgun and took his wallet containing credit cards, car keys and $100, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the 4800 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 79-year-old man reported that after he cashed checks for $6,500 at a currency exchange, a man knocked him to the ground, punched him several times and took an envelope containing the money, according to police.
