Local Crime from 16th District 12-28-16
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about 9:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, in the 5600 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that as he was sitting in his vehicle, a 2013 Infinity containing two men stopped and one of them pointed a gun at him, according to police. The man said that he had seen the vehicle twice before, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was stolen at gunpoint at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in the 3600 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that while he was stopped at a stop sign, a man approached the driver’s side of his 2006 BMW, pointed a gun at his head, forced him out of the car and struck him on the head with the gun, knocking him to the ground, according to police. The man said that two other men kicked him and that the three fled in his car, police said. Officers found the vehicle at 6:45 a.m. in the 6900 block of West School Street, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that two men attempted to rob him at about 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in the 6700 block of West Cornelia Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that a man wearing a ski mask grabbed him by the neck, punched him and attempted to take his backpack while a second man wearing a ski mask acted as a lookout, and that he ran away from the two men, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was the victim of a scam at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at her home in the 8100 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 95-year-old woman reported that a man came to her door and said that he was the son of a roofer who had done work for her and he was there to collect money, according to police. The woman said that the man and a second man followed her into the house and took $2,000 in cash, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was stolen at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, in the 3400 block of North Nordica Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 81-year-old woman reported that a man took her purse containing keys, letters and $30 in cash, according to police.
RESIDENTS reported that their apartments in the 5500 block of West Eddy Street were burglarized between 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that the rear door was unlocked and that jewelry and $3,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A woman reported that she discovered that the rear door of her apartment had been forced open and that five packages and $300 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3600 block of North Long Avenue was burglarized between 1 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear window was open and that two assault rifles, a shotgun, three handguns and ammunition were missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Walgreens store, 6310 N. Nagle Ave., reported that a man threatened an employee at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man demanded medication from the pharmacy and that when the pharmacist asked to see a prescription the man demanded the medicine and threatened her and that she told him that she was calling the police, according to police.
