Local Crime from 16th District 2-4-15
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 10:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the 4400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that three men approached him after he got out of his car, attacked him and took his wallet containing $150, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with unlawful possession of a handgun following his arrest at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in the 3700 block of North Austin Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers stopped a vehicle with obstructive objects hanging from its rear view mirror and the driver was arrested after police discovered a semi-automatic handgun with its serial number defaced and seven rounds of ammunition in his possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Marlon Tello, age 24, of the 2800 block of North Mobile Avenue.
A NEWSPAPER delivery man reported that his car was stolen at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the 5100 block of West Henderson Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 38-year-old man reported that he left his car running while he walked around the neighborhood delivering newspapers and that he saw a man get out of a brown Ford Windstar van, enter his 2000 Chevrolet Malibu and drive away, according to police. The man’s car was recovered in the 5200 block of West Henderson Street at about noon the same day, police said.
A WOMAN reported that she was the victim of a pickpocket at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Jefferson Park CTA Blue Line station, 4917 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 30-year-old woman reported that after riding the train she discovered that her Samsung Galaxy Note 3 cell phone valued at $600 was missing from her jacket pocket, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3900 block of North Newcastle Avenue was burglarized at about midnight Friday, Jan. 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a diamond and sapphire necklace valued at $500 was missing, according to police. The woman said that there were no signs of forced entry, police said.
A WOMAN reported her car was burglarized between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, while it was parked in the 6200 block of North Cicero Avenue according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her vehicle she discovered that the front window had been broken and that an Apple iPhone 4 cell phone valued at $200, an Apple iPhone 3 cell phone valued at $200 and a handbag valued at $100 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 5900 block of North Neva Avenue was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been broken in and that jewelry valued at $10,300 and $6,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5300 block of West Addison Street was burglarized between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a side basement window was broken and that a Toshiba laptop computer, a Sony Play Station video game system, a Sony Play Station 4 video game system, a Samsung Galaxy 4 cell phone, a Motorola Razr cell phone and $550 in cash were missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of Pearson Realty Group reported that an empty property in the 3700 block of North Oak Park Avenue was burglarized between 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, and 8 p.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that when he arrived at the home he discovered that the rear door had been broken in and that copper plumbing was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 6300 block of West Cuyler Avenue was burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the overhead garage door was open and that a Toro snow blower valued at $400 was missing, according to police.
SEVERAL vehicle thefts were reported between Jan. 27 and Jan. 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Vehicles were reported stolen in the 4100 block of North Leclaire Avenue, the 6300 block of North Central Avenue and the 5400 block of West Gale Street, according to police.
SEVERAL THEFTS of catalytic converters from vehicles were reported between Jan. 23 and Jan. 24, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Catalytic converters were reported missing from vehicles in the 3900 block of North Lavergne Avenue, the 5300 block of West Dakin Street and the 3400 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to police.
