Local Crime from 16th District 3-16-2016




AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant, 6342 N. Milwaukee Ave., was robbed at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that two men entered the restaurant and that one of them displayed a handgun and took $300 to $400 from the cash register, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the 6000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that a man told him that he had a gun and took his wallet containing $500 and his cell phone charger, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE reported an attempted burglary at the Radio Shack store, 5316 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 4:15 a.m. Monday, March 14, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that ceiling tiles had been knocked down and that the vent was on the floor, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6200 block of West Byron Street was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Saturday, March 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a back window was broken and that jewelry and a cell phone were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5500 block of West Higgins Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a door was broken and that a television set, a computer, a digital videodisc player, pair of shoes, a laptop computer and $25 in cash were missing, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Subway restaurant, 4034 N. Narragansett Ave., was burglarized at about 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the front door was unlocked and that $150 in cash was missing, according to police. The man reported that a video showed that a masked man took cash from the drawer, police said.

THEFTS OF catalytic converters from vehicles were reported between March 7 and March 10 on the Northwest Side, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 4900 block of North Neva Avenue, the 5500 block of North Parkside Avenue, the 5400 block of North Lovejoy Avenue, the 6400 block of North Newcastle Avenue, the 6100 block of North Mason Avenue, the 5800 block of North Napoleon Avenue, the 5800 block of North Navarre Avenue, the 6800 block of West Palatine Avenue and the 6000 block of West Albion Avenue, according to police.
