Local Crime from 16th District 3-2-2016
EMPLOYEES reported that TCF Bank, 7342 W. Foster Ave., was robbed at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A cashier reported that a man handed her a note demanding money and she gave him about $2,186 and the man fled, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 55 to 65, 5-8 and 185 pounds, and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a red T-shirt, a baseball cap and sunglasses.
THREE residents reported that their neighbors attacked them at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the 5400 block of West Windsor Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 52-year-old man reported that during an argument with two men and one of them pointed a knife at him, according to police. A 20-year-old woman reported that when she went to help her father, one of the men displayed a handgun and the other man punched her father, police said. A 16-year-old teenager reported that when she went to help, a female neighbor punched her in the mouth, police said.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the 7600 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 29-year-old woman reported that a man crossed the street, displayed a knife and demanded her belongings, according to police. A witness reported that he got out of his truck and chased the man away, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that a man took his van at gunpoint at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the 6000 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 23-year-old man reported that he stopped his 1995 Chevrolet Astrovan in traffic and that a man approached the driver’s side, displayed a handgun ordered him outside, and drove away in the van, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly stole a purse at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the 3200 block of North Ozark Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 74-year-old woman reported that a man took her purse containing gift cards and $40 in cash, according to police. The woman said that a friend discovered her belongings near a garbage can in the 7700 block of West Belmont Avenue, police said. Witnesses reported that they saw a man with the purse, and the suspect was arrested after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Cody Cacciatore, age 22, of the 8300 block of West Irving Park Road.
A WOMAN reported that a man took her purse at about 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the 6000 block of West Byron Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 61-year-old woman reported that as she was bringing items to her home from her car, a man asked her for directions, according to police. The woman said that she continued to bring items from her car, the man took her purse containing credit cards and $260 in cash from the vehicle, police said.
