Local Crime from 16th District 3-8-17
A MAN REPORTED that a man fired a gun at him at about 9:10 p.m. Monday, March 6, in the 5600 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that he agreed to meet a person from a Web site to sell a chain at Central and Belle Plaine avenues and that as he was walking, a man fired several shots at him, according to police.
Witnesses reported that they heard six to eight shots and saw a man running to a parked sedan, according to police. Damage was found to the windshield of a van, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:55 a.m. Sunday, March 5, at Indian Road Park, 6010 W. Matson Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that he met with four men at the park who accused him of stealing drugs and that they punched and kicked him and took $120 and his backpack from him, according to police.
A MAN WAS stabbed at about 7:55 a.m. Saturday, March 4, on a train near the CTA Jefferson Park Blue Line station, 4917 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that he had an argument with a man on the train and that when he got up from his seat the man stabbed him three times, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the 7-Eleven store, 6540 W. Belmont Ave., was robbed at gunpoint at about 2:05 a.m. Saturday, March 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 21-year-old man reported that two men entered the store and that one of them stood by the door and the other man displayed a handgun and took $200 from the cash register, according to police.
The Area North Bureau of Detectives issued an alert on several other commercial robberies that detectives suspect were committed by the same men, police said. Robberies were reported on the same date at about 2:55 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Diversey Avenue, at 3:15 a.m. in the 4300 block of West Irving Park Road, and at 3:41 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Pulaski Road, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that three men stole his car at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in the 5000 block of West Hutchinson Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 63-year-old man reported that he after he got out of his 2013 Hyundai Elantra, three men approached him and one of them struck him on the shoulder and they fled in the vehicle, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a liquor store at 6122 W. Addison St., was robbed at about 8:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 42-year-old man reported that two men entered the store and ordered him to the floor, and that during a struggle one of the men struck him on the head with a bottle and the men took several bottles of alcohol, cigarettes and $150 in cash, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into a home in the 5700 block of North Oketo Avenue at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he saw a man holding a bag run from a gangway and flee in a car, according to police. The man reported that a side window had been broken and that a cell phone, a computer, a laptop computer, an Xbox video game console, a digital videodisc player and jewelry were missing, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her daughter’s home in the 4500 block of North Mulligan Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she entered her daughter’s home she discovered that the kitchen window had been forced open and that 10 pairs of shoes valued at $2,000, two Play Station 4 video game consoles valued at $880, a Play Station 3 video game console valued at $100, a television set valued at $200, 15 video games valued at $900, a bag valued at $200, a camera valued at $1,300 and $200 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man broke into her home in the 5300 block of North Laramie Avenue at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 29-year-old woman reported that she heard glass breaking and saw a man entering her apartment through the back door, according to police. The woman reported that the man said that he had the wrong apartment and fled, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of North New England Avenue was burglarized at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door was open and that 10 pairs of shoes valued at $2,500, two necklaces valued at $1,200, a ring valued at $7,000, a watch valued at $300 and $1,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested on retail theft charges at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Mariano’s store, 5353 N. Elston Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
An employee reported that he saw the man conceal six bottles of alcohol valued at $293.99 in his coat and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Bilgunn Tumurbaatar, age 26, of the 1500 block of Dempster Street, Mount Prospect.
