FOUR PEOPLE were arrested after an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred at about 4:20 a.m. Monday, April 13, in the 3200 block of North Ozark Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 31-year-old man reported before losing consciousness at the scene that he and a 30-year-old man were walking on the sidewalk and a vehicle crossed a lawn, struck them both and then was driven away, according to police. Witnesses reported that they saw two men and two women in the vehicle, and the suspects were arrested after officers stopped the vehicle they were in the 3200 block of North Osceola Avenue, police said.
A 30-year-old man who was struck was admitted to Loyola Hospital in critical condition, and the 31-year-old man was admitted to Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Jonathan U. Guerrero, age 28, of the 3000 block of North Luna Avenue, Christopher Ramirez, age 22, of the 7300 block of North Avenue, Elmwood Park, Kimberly L. Wiercinski, age 29, of the 3100 block of North Normandy Avenue, and Renee A. Polonowski, age 24, of the 1300 block of Quaker Lane, Prospect Heights.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at work at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, in the 6900 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 54-year-old man reported that a man followed him into work with an umbrella concealing his face and struck him in the head and face with a tire iron, according to police. The man reported that he wrestled the attacker to the ground before he fled the scene, police said. He was treated for minor injuries, police said.
A WOMAN reported that a man exposed himself to her daughter at about 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, in the 8000 block of West Waveland Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 36-year-old woman reported that her 11-year-old daughter told her that a man approached her from an alley fondling his exposed penis and that she ran away, according to police. The woman said that she later saw the man driving in a blue Honda Civic with temporary plates and that he smiled at them as he drove past, police said.
TWO MEN were arrested at about 10 a.m. Sunday, April 12, in 3700 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a report of a reckless driver stopped a vehicle, and the driver and the passenger were arrested after the officers saw them throw beer cans out of the windows, according to police. The driver resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers in the face while being apprehended, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Israel Fraga, age 32, of the 2300 block of South 61st Court, Cicero, and Cameron Seymour, age 30, of the 3400 block of North Cicero Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in an alley in the 5400 block of West Melrose Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that two men wearing red bandanas attacked him and took $225 from his wallet, according to police. The man was treated for minor injuries, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5200 block of West Roscoe Street was burglarized at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, April 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that he heard the back door slammed shut as he entered, according to police. The resident said that he chased a man running from his house down the alley and that he took the man’s backpack containing his stolen belongings, police said.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly broke into Iglesia Transformation Church, 5518 W. Gettysburg St., at about 2 a.m. Sunday, April 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 51-year-old man reported that when he arrived at the church he discovered that the glass front door had been broken and that he believed that there was someone inside the building, and a man was arrested after police found him sleeping in a bathroom, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Krzysztof Lipinski, age 21, of the 1900 block of Pine Avenue, Des Plaines.
A MAN WAS arrested at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday, April 12, in the 6400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers responded to a report of three men allegedly selling narcotics, and a man was arrested at the scene after officers discovered 38 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition and one round of .38 caliber ammunition in his possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Rene Cardona Jr., age 24, of the 5600 block of West Berenice Avenue.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man robbed the Walgreens store, 6310 N. Nagle Ave., at about 7:10 p.m. Friday, April 10, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he was ringing up a man for a pack of gum and that as soon as the register opened the men took $30 in cash from the drawer and ran out of the store, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man exposed himself at about 1:15 p.m. in front of the McDonald’s Restaurant, 3546 N. Harlem Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 32-year-old men reported that he was with his 4-year-old daughter in the restaurant’s "Playplace" and that he saw a man get out of the passenger side of a 2015 Chevrolet car, walk up to a window and urinate, according to police. The man said that the man returned to the vehicle and that the driver was an elderly woman, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 12:15 a.m. Friday, April 10, in the 5100 block of West Grace Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 64-year-old man reported that two men approached him and that one of them grabbed him from behind and the other took his wallet containing $1, threw him to the ground, kneed him in the face and knocked teeth from his mouth, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Edgebrook Ace Hardware store, 5423 W. Devon Ave., was burglarized at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a surveillance video showed two men take 12 plastic pallets valued at $1,200 from the parking lot and put them into a van, according to police.
A TEENAGER was arrested after an employee reported that a man attempted to break into the Milwaukee Food and Liquor store, 4701 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 5:20 a.m. Thursday, April 9, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he heard noises coming from the front of the store and that he saw the teen throwing bricks at a store window, according to police. The man said that he and another man apprehended the teen and held him until the police arrived, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as a male 17-year-old.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 5300 block of West Foster Avenue was burglarized between 5 p.m. Sunday, April 12, and 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the garage service door had been forced open and that a Craftsman toolbox, a Craftsman mitre saw and miscellaneous tools were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 5500 block of West Addison Street was burglarized between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the doors to his apartment were open and that a Hewlett-Packard Elite Book tablet computer, a Packard-Packard laptop computer, a cell phone, a camera and a wallet were missing, according to police.
