A WOMAN reported that her wallet was stolen at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, while she was riding a CTA Blue Line train, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she got off the crowded train at Jefferson Park station she discovered that her designer wallet valued at $220 and containing $570 in cash, as well as credit cards, keys, blank checks were missing from her purse, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man stole lottery tickets from the 7-Eleven store, 5316 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 6 a.m. Saturday, April 19, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man reached over the counter and took six lottery tickets, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man shoplifted items from the Walgreens store, 5935 W. Addison St., at about 4 p.m. Monday, April 21, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man took shaving cream, razors and shaving supplies valued at a total of $150 and fled on a bicycle, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was threatened at about 10:35 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in an alley in the 7900 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that a man approached him in the alley and threatened to beat him up, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with possession of a controlled substance following his arrest at about 1:20 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the 4800 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
An officer stopped a car that was weaving, and the driver was arrested after the officer found a pipe and a plastic bag containing 2 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Gregory J. Ramirez, age 34, of the 4700 block of North Linder Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Jewel-Osco store, 4729 N. Central Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman put steaks, frozen shrimp and olive oil valued at a total of $151.66 into her purse and shopping bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Gerda Manning, age 70, of the 3200 block of North Osceola Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6600 block of North Hiawatha Avenue was burglarized at about 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 21, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the side entry door had been broken in and that a safe, gold and silver coins, miscellaneous jewelry, credit cards, a.45 caliber handgun and $3,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her car was burglarized at about 10 p.m. Friday, April 18, while it was parked in the 5800 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her car, she discovered that the rear driver’s-side window was broken and that a stethoscope valued at $100, a medical bag valued at $40, a pulse oximeter valued at $65 and an oxygen monitor valued at $300 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, and 11 a.m. the following day while it was parked in the 4800 block of West Berteau Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his car he discovered that the spare tire was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 5800 block of North Marmora Avenue was burglarized between 10 p.m. Friday, April 18, and 6 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that the side door of the garage had been broken kicked in and that two air guns, a compressor and a saw were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of North Oriole Avenue was burglarized between 6:05 a.m. and 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that a gold ring, two diamond earrings, a gold and diamond wedding ring, two antique pocket watches and $2,300 in cash were missing, according to police.
