A MAN REPORTED that a man attacked him with a vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the 3600 block of North Overhill Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that a man attempted to run him off the road as he was driving west on Addison Street and that he swerved to avoid a head-on collision, according to police. The man said that the man chased him and that he parked his car, got out and used the car as a shield, police said.
The man reported that the man drove up to his car, reversed and struck him, pinning his leg between the vehicles before he drove away, according to police. The man said that the man was a former friend and that he did not need medical attention, police said.
A MAN WAS arrested on gun and drug charges at about 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, in the 5800 block of West Grace Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle saw a man move several times between a car and a truck, according to police. The man was arrested after officers found a substance suspected of crack cocaine, 17 bags of a substance suspected of being marijuana and a handgun, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Khalil Hood, age 20, of the 5000 block of West Irving Park Road.
SHOTS WERE fired at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, in the 5800 block of West School Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a report of shots fired discovered five shell casings on the sidewalk, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he discovered a bullet hole in the front grill of his Toyota minivan at about10 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, while it was parked in the 3200 block of North Menard Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he found a shell casing under the van, police said.
TWO TEENAGERS were arrested after an altercation with officers at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, May 22, in the 6000 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
When officers approached a teenager who was acting suspiciously, the teenager began shouted and pushed them, according to police. During a struggle, the teen threw his backpack to a second teen who also pushed an officer and ran away, police said. The two youths were placed into custody, and the backpack was found to contain a can of spray paint, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as a 16-year-old male and as a 17-year-old male.
A 2015 JEEP Wrangler was set on fire at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, May 21, while it was parked in the 7100 block of West School Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The vehicle had heavy front and interior fire damage, and a bottle containing an accelerant was found on top of the car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 20, while on a CTA Blue Line train near the Harlem station, 5550 N. Harlem Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 23-year-old man reported that a man sat next to him and asked for money, according to police. The man said that he told the man that he did not have any money and that when he opened his wallet showing only $2, the man took the wallet, which actually had $55 in it, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was stolen at about 3 a.m. Friday, May 20, in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 24-year-old woman reported that a man took her bag containing an airport security badge, a debit card and her wallet containing $70, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 4 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in the 5600 block of North Northcott Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 42-year-old man reported that as he was picking up his son from Taft High School, he got out of his car and attempted to break up a fight among students, according to police. The man said that one of the students punched him in the face and they all fled, police said.
A TEENAGER reported that he was robbed at about 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, in the 4000 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teen reported that he met a man he has contact with on Facebook to sell him designer jeans and shirts and that the man grabbed his backpack containing $1,040 worth of clothing and fled, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6000 block of North Elston Avenue was burglarized between 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that two television sets, a laptop computer and $200 in cash were missing, according to police.
THE NEWLY opened Earl’s BBQ restaurant, 4035 N. Austin Ave., was burglarized at about 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a burglary alarm and discovered that a large piece of cement has been thrown through a side glass window, and an employee reported that a music speaker was missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man took two phones from the Radio Shack store, 5316 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man entered the store and asked about Sprint cell phones and that he told him that the employee who takes care of that was on a break, according to police. The employee said that the man made a phone call and a second man entered the store and took two cell phones valued at $1,398, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his work van was burglarized at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, May 22, while it was parked in the 7600 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to the van he discovered that the rear door lock had been broken and that tools valued at $2,040 were missing, according to police.
THEFTS OF tires from vehicles were reported between May 22 and May 23 on the Northwest Side, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 5200 block of West Cuyler Avenue, the 4800 block of West Waveland Avenue and the 3300 block of North Long Avenue, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 6600 block of West Foster Avenue was burglarized between 10 p.m. Thursday, May 19, and 8 p.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that two bicycles valued at $400, clothing valued at $2,000 and tools valued at $300 were missing, according to police.
