Local Crime from 16th District 6-28-17
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, June 24, in the 5500 block of West Edmunds Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 45-year-old woman reported that as she was walking a man grabbed her hair, punched her in the face and then grabbed her by her blouse, pointed a handgun at her and took her purse, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man robbed her at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday, June 24, in the 3800 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 26-year-old woman reported that while she was walking a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt approached her from behind, demanded her jewelry, and punched her in the face before she gave him her earrings valued at $50 and the man pulled off a necklace valued at $50 from around her neck, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened a contractor with a tire iron at about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the 5800 block of West Grace Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 47-year-old contractor reported that he was cutting concrete in the street and a man exited a nearby residence holding a tire iron and approached him, asked what he was doing and said, "I will bash your head in," and that when he stepped back and held his hands up to the man and said, "Take it easy," to him, the man said, "I will bash your hand," according to police. The man was arrested after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Anthony Regan, age 52, of the West Grace Street address.
A MAN WAS arrested and charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespassing to a vehicle after he allegedly threatened a man with a knife at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the 6200 block of North Caldwell Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 46-year-old man reported that while he was driving in an alley, a man yelled at him, stuck his head inside of his vehicle and then kicked the driver’s side door, and that after he exited his vehicle and approached the man, the man pointed a folding knife at him and said, "I’ll stab you now," according to police. The man reported that he entered his vehicle and called the police and the man was arrested after officers located a man matching a description at a CTA bus stop near the intersection of Caldwell and Central avenues, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as William Dee Nicholl, age 21, of the 1500 block of West Hollywood Avenue.
Eastwood
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was burglarized between 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, and 7 a.m. the following day, while it was parked in the 5800 block of West Eastwood Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that the front passenger side window was shattered and that a bag containing an Apple laptop computer valued at $1,200, a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet computer valued at $700 and other various other items valued at $3,909 was missing, according to police.
SEVERAL vehicle thefts were reported on the Northwest Side between June 17 and June 25, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Incidents of stolen vehicles were reported in the 5600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, the 5800 block of West Lawrence Avenue, the 4100 block of North Narragansett Avenue, the 6700 block of North Loron Avenue, the 4800 block of West Roscoe Street and the 8300 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to police.
