Local Crime from 16th District 7-2-14
A WOMAN reported that she was abducted an sexually assaulted between 11:15 p.m. Thursday, June 26, and 9:20 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the 5900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 42-year-old woman reported that a man grabbed her from behind, dragged her to his vehicle and threatened to kill her, according to police. The woman said that the man held her down, punched her in the face and placed a dark stocking over her eyes, police said.
The woman reported that the man stopped the vehicle and forced her into a residence, where he struck her in the face again and placed a pill in her mouth, according to police. The woman said that the man began removing her clothes and that she lost consciousness, police said.
The woman reported that she regained consciousness in the vehicle and that the man told her to get out and stand outside for 30 minutes, then drove away, police said.
The woman was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
TWO MEN reported that a man threatened them with a gun during an attempted robbery at about 12:05 a.m. Thursday, June 26, in the 3900 block of North Marmora Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The men, age 23 and 24, reported that as they were sitting in a parked car, a man approached them, displayed a revolver, and forced them to lie on the ground, according to police. The two said that the man demanded money and their cell phones, and that when they said that they did not have any, he kicked one of the men in the chin and the chest before he fled, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that a man attacked him with a baseball bat at about 4 a.m. Sunday, June 29, in the 4200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 52-year-old man reported that a man in a car asked if he needed a ride and that he accepted the offer and gave the man $5, according to police. The man said that the driver asked for more money and that when he refused the driver told him to get out of the car, police said.
The man reported that the driver later approached him in an alley and struck him on the head with a baseball bat before he fled, according to police. The man was treated at Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital, police said.
A BOY REPORTED that he was robbed in the 4600 block of North Lawler Avenue at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 14-year-old youth reported that a man approached him, held his arms and took his air gun, according to police.
EMPLOYEES reported that First Mobile Inc., 4354 N. Central Ave., was burglarized between 6:15 p.m. Sunday, June 29, and 9:20 a.m. Monday, June 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employees reported that they discovered a hole in a wall and that a number of Samsung and Nokia cell phones valued at $9,000 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5400 block of West Montrose Avenue was burglarized at about 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a basement door had been forced open that a Jamis bicycle valued at $1,069 was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 4100 block of North Moody Avenue was burglarized between 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and 6:30 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a lawnmower, a snowplow, a power generator, an air compressor, a chain saw, children’s bikes and other miscellaneous tools were missing, according to police.
