Local Crime from 16th District 9-10-14
A WOMAN WAS arrested after she allegedly shot a woman with a BB gun at about 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the 3400 block of North Lavergne Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she was awakened by construction workers who were repairing the street outside her home and that she became annoyed and shot at the workers from a second-story window, striking the 33-year-old worker in the leg, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Alexis Galindo, age 22, of the Lavergne Address.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened a man with a BB gun at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, outside the Ysabel’s Grill restaurant, 4908 W. Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 41-year-old man reported that after a man had an argument with his wife, the man pulled a gun out of the trunk of his vehicle and pointed it at him, then fled in his vehicle, according to police. Responding officers arrested the suspect at his home, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jerie Grover Tse, age 32, of the 5500 block of West Lawrence Avenue.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that an RPN Sales truck was stolen while he was in the cargo area at about 4:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, outside of the business, 4451 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that as he was loading items into the truck’s rear cargo area, a man entered the cab of the truck and drove away, causing him to fall out of the truck, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 5:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that as he was sitting on the Jefferson Park Metra station platform, two men approached him and demanded money, and that one of the men cut his cheek and the two took $130 from him, according to police. The man said that he spoke to the men about a month before the incident but that he does not know them, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the 3400 block of North Linder Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 76-year-old woman reported that a man ran up to her and grabbed a gold chain from around her neck, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he and two other men allegedly attacked two men at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the 5200 block of North Leclaire Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The men, age 62 and 50, reported that as they were on their front porch, they saw three men looking inside vehicles that were parked on the block, according to police. The two said that when they said that they would call police, the men ran up the porch stairs and punched and kicked them, police said.
Responding officers arrested the suspect at the Jefferson Park CTA station based on a description, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jason Neal, age 20, of the 3800 block of North Long Avenue.
A MAN WAS charged with possession of narcotics and unlawful use of weapons following his arrest at about 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the 6000 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers approached a driver who was slumped over the steering wheel of his car, and the man was arrested when police found a substance suspected of being marijuana on the front seat and a loaded 9 mm handgun in the glove compartment and the driver could not produce an F.O.I.D. card or a concealed carry permit, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Christopher Davis, age 32, of the 4900 block of North Mont Clare Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly burglarized a home in the 5400 block of West Dakin Street at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A woman and her family reported that a man entered their front door, went into their basement, left with copper tubing and handed it to someone in a parked vehicle, according to police. The residents said that when the man returned and tried to gain entry to another apartment, the woman closed the back door and held the man in the hallway until police arrived, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Edward Allen, age 37, of the 2100 block of North Mobile Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed while he was riding his bicycle at about 8:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, in the 6300 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that two men stepped out from a bus stop shelter and that one of them hit him on the head with a screwdriver handle, knocking him unconscious, according to police. The man said that when he regained consciousness he saw the men fleeing with his bicycle, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE of CA Development, 3880 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that a home under construction in the 5600 block of North Latrobe Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, and 6 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the rear door to the home was unlocked and that lock sets, hinge pins, doorknobs, a doorstop spring and 4.5 feet of copper piping valued at a total of $800 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 6300 block of West Lawrence Avenue was burglarized between 4 and 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front window had been forced open and that various items of jewelry were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6900 block of West Argyle Street was burglarized between 3 p.m. and midnight Saturday, Sept. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he and his family returned home they discovered that the back door had been forced open and that a camera, $1,100 in cash and jewelry valued at $8,400 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 6500 block of West Devon Avenue was burglarized at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that the back door was ajar and that jewelry valued at $6,400 was missing, according to police.
