A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, in the 3500 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that he works for a towing company and that he was about to repossess a 2000 Honda Odyssey when a man came out of his home, displayed a handgun and told him to not tow the car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, in the 4400 block of North Sacramento Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 23-year-old man reported that two men got out of a vehicle and one displayed a handgun and took his cell phone and $52, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at gunpoint at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, on a CTA Blue Line train in the 4600 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 50-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and took $100 from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Addison Street station on the CTA Blue Line, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man reported that after he got off a train, two men punched him in the head and back and knocked him to the ground and took his coat valued at $150 and his wallet containing credit cards, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his mother’s home in the 4200 block of West Devon Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he went to the home he discovered that the side door had been forced open and the resident later reported that a box containing documents, a pendant valued at $2,000, a wedding ring valued at $2,500, two gold chains valued at $1,500, three bracelets valued at $1,500, a bracelet valued at $900, two chains valued at $400, two rings valued at $1,400 and $7,200 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of North Kildare Avenue was burglarized between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door had been forced open and that two laptop computers valued at $3,000 and a cell phone charger were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3700 block of North Kenneth Avenue was burglarized between 1:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that two gun cases containing four rifles and a shotgun and his wallet containing credit cards and $200 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4900 block of North Troy Street was burglarized between 12:15 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when he returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that two iPads, an iPod and earrings were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4100 block of West Roscoe Street was burglarized between 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, and 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was unlocked and that a guitar, a saxophone and $1,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, in the 6900 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was being driven at 55 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Maynor N. Garcia, age 26, of the 4100 block of West Barry Avenue.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 12:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in the 6700 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers stopped a vehicle that was being driven at 59 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police. Two containers containing 4 grams of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe containing burned marijuana residue were found in the vehicle, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Daniel W. Brown, Sr., age 55, of the 8100 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, Skokie.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, and 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, while it was parked in the 6900 block of North Kenton Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he discovered a backpack containing clothes, headphones, an identification card, a check book and two gift cards valued at $75 were missing from the vehicle, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man remove the price tags from a coat and put it on, put then put on his own coat, conceal a scarf and leave the store without paying for the items valued at $170, according to police. A jewelry item valued at $60 was discovered in the man’s pants pocket, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Gumercindo Vargas-Solorzano, age 34, of the 1600 block of West Morse Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman put clothing items, boots and a wallet valued at $629 and five pairs of earrings valued at $215 into a plastic shopping bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Stacey Johnson, age 49, of the 15800 block of West Dixie Highway, Harvey.
