Local Crime from 17th District 1-24-15
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly stabbed a man at about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the 3700 block of North Troy Street, according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The wounded man reported that during an argument, the man stabbed him in the right hand and left shoulder with a knife, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Phillip Creme, age unkown, of the 3700 block of Troy.
FOUR MEN reported that they were robbed at about 5:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, in the 4800 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men reported that a car stopped in front of their car and that four men got out of the vehicle, displayed handguns and took a wallet, $320 in cash and an iPhone 5 cell phone valued at $600 from them, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly attempted to rob two men at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, inside the CVS store, 3343 W. Montrose Ave., according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men reported that they were attempting to sell two pairs of Michael Jordan gym shoes to two men who had contacted them through the Internet and that the two men attempted to take the shoes without paying for them, according to police. The men said that they were able to retain the shoes, and responding officers apprehended one of the men, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Tre’Von Mills, age 19, of the 2000 block of West Fullerton Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5700 block of North Drake Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the side door had been broken in and that jewelry and $1,000 in quarters were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4200 block of North Keystone Avenue was burglarized between 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, and 7 a.m. the following day, according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a sweater valued at $180, a pair of pants valued at $100, a pair of socks valued at $10 and tools valued at $45 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was the victim of a ruse in which her home in the 3000 block of West Addison Street was burglarized at about 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, according to the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 66-year-old woman reported that a man rang her doorbell, said that he had just struck her parked car and suggested that she go outside to view the damage, according to police. The woman said that she left her house with the man to inspect her car and that when she reentered the home she discovered that a gold ring, a gold necklace and $50 were missing, police said.
LINCOLNWOOD
TWO BUSINESSES were ticketed for selling tobacco to a minor on Friday, Jan. 16, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers issued citations to a 63-year-old employee of the BP gas station, 7200 N. Cicero Ave., and to a 63-year-old employee of the Shell Gas Station, 6400 N. Lincoln Ave., and after each employee sold a pack of cigarettes to an underage undercover agent without asking to see identification, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3900 block of West Lunt Avenue was burglarized at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the side door had been forced open and that a sterling silver tea set valued at $5,000 was missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Children’s Place store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., reported that a customer attempted to pay for a transaction with a counterfeit $100 bill, according to Lincolnwood police.
The employee reported that when a woman presented a bill that appeared to be counterfeit, the sale was denied and that the bill was retained for investigation, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man take a T-shirt valued at $14 into the fitting room and leave the store without paying for the item, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Jonathan J. Castro, age 19, of the 4600 block of West Warwick Avenue, Chicago.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man take seven T-shirts valued at $79 and leave the store without paying for them, according to police. The employee said that the man ran away when loss prevention agents tried to apprehend him, and officers arrested him in the parking lot of the XSport Fitness Health Club, 3450 W. Touhy Ave., police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Hector R. Lopez, age 36, of the 3900 block of West Altgeld Street.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 10:18 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man conceal a leather wallet valued at $35 under his clothing and leave the store without paying for the item, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Mohammed A. Nayeem, age 66, of the 6300 block of North Artesian Avenue, Chicago.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 5:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man conceal two packages of underwear valued at $84.50 under his clothing and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Johnny Lee, age 18, of the 5600 block of North Richmond Avenue.
