Local Crime from 17th District 1-3-15
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the 4300 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 40-year-old man reported that two men got out of a car and that one of them pointed a gun at him, according to police.
TWO MEN reported that their car was struck by a bullet at about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, while it was parked in the 3900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, age 22 and 24, reported that they were in the parked car and that they heard three gunshots and the side of the car was struck by one of the bullets, according to police. The men reported that a witness told them that he saw a man in a white vehicle fire three shots at their car, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that an employee of the 7-Eleven store, 4771 N. Elston Ave., attacked him at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that he ate a snack and won $30 from a lottery ticket and told the man working at the counter that he would pay for the item with the winnings, according to police. The man said that that the employee told him that he could not collect lottery winnings after 2 a.m. and that he had to pay $1.63 for the food item, police said.
The man reported that he told the man that he did not have any money and that he would have to go home and get some, and that the employee chased him out of the store and struck him with a baseball bat on both elbows and the left thigh outside the store, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the intersection of Avers Avenue and Ainslie Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 35-year-old man reported that a man asked him for directions and then displayed a handgun and took $145 from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, in the 3200 block of North Keating Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that as he was locking the front gate, a man displayed a handgun and took his backpack containing a camera valued at $6,000 and four camera lenses valued at $5,550, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4000 block of West Cornelia Avenue was burglarized at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front porch window was broken and that a 32-inch television set valued at $300 and a security camera were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, in the 4700 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The driver of a sport utility vehicle that had crashed into a light pole said that he did not have a driver’s license but that his wife had been driving and had gone for help, according to police. Two passengers reported that the man had been driving, and he was arrested after he failed sobriety tests and a test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.097, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Luis Alberto Melesio-Campos, age 24, of the 7400 block of North Ridge Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested on drug charges at about 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, in the 6700 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a car whose driver was not wearing a seat belt, and the driver was arrested after the officer discovered a bag containing a substance suspected of being cocaine and it was discovered that his driver’s license was suspended, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Tuan A. Nguyen, age 27, of the 4800 block of West Hull Street, Skokie.
A MAN WAS arrested on drug charges at about midnight Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the 7200 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
After an officer saw a car parked in a gas station in the 6800 block of North Cicero Avenue, the occupant of the vehicle immediately drove off without signaling he was arrested after officers found drug paraphernalia, a jar containing a substance suspected of being hash oil and three pills of clonazepam in his possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Nicholas S. Pignato, age 20, of the 4800 block of West Fargo Avenue, Skokie.
A WOMAN was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following her arrest at about 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, in the 3500 block of West Devon Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding and that changed lanes without signaling, and the driver was arrested after she failed sobriety tests, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Rebekka K. Laxner, age 29, of the 7000 block of North Hoyne Avenue.
