A CAB DRIVER reported that he was robbed at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, in the 5500 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 62-year-old man reported that after he parked his cab, three men got out of a car and one of them displayed a handgun, according to police. The man said that he threw $100 to the ground and that the men fled with the money, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was stolen at gunpoint at about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the 3900 block of North Richmond Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that as he was sitting in his 2013 Mercedes-Benz, a man wearing a ski mask got out of a car, displayed a handgun, ordered him out of his car and drove away in it, according to police.
TWO MEN reported that they were robbed at gunpoint at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, in an alley in the 4200 block of North Keeler Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, age 19 and 18, reported that they were charging $10 admission for a party they were holding and that after they were told that police had been called for a noise complaint and guests were leaving through the alley, two men displayed handguns and took a tin can containing $1,500 that they had collected, according to police.
A DELIVERY driver reported that he was robbed at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the 4700 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that as he was making a food delivery, two men displayed handguns and took his wallet containing $25 and food valued at $30 and fled in a vehicle, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the 3300 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that as he was walking under the Kennedy Expressway viaduct, a man displayed a handgun and took his cell phone, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, in the 4500 block of West Carmen Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 45-year-old man reported that three men approached him and one of them displayed a handgun and the three took his shoes valued at $50 and his cell phone valued at $100, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Jewel-Osco, 4660 W. Irving Park Road, reported that a customer threatened her with a knife at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old woman reported that a man argued with her over the price of items and that when she removed some items from the man’s purchase and told him the new total, the man gave her a gift card to pay for the items, according to police. The woman said that when she told the man that he had to swipe the card, the man displayed a knife and threatened her, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of North Spaulding Avenue was burglarized between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been forced open and that a bag of coins valued at $40 was missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN REPORTED that his car was stolen from the parking lot of the Hot Nails salon, 4702 W. Touhy Ave., between 9:25 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned to his 1997 Chevrolet Prism he discovered that it was missing, according to police. The man said that the car was unlocked and that there was an ignition key under a floor mat in the vehicle, police said.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated assault of a police officer following his arrest at about 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, in the 4300 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police. While the man was being booked at the station, he refused to sign a form and refused a breath test and then threatened an officer, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Taras Tsirka, age 24, of the 5100 block of West Roscoe Street.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted an item from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 6:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman put on a coat valued at $280 from the sales floor and leave the store without paying for the item, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Sharon B. Lapage, age 39, of the 1200 block of West 35th Street.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man remove the security tags from three electronics items valued at $330, place the items in a shopping bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Kenneth E. Clinton, age 58, of the 7400 block of North Ashland Avenue.
