A MAN REPORTED that a man pointed a gun at him at about 4:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at a home in the 3700 block of West Leland Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 65-yer-old man reported that when he went to check on an apartment unit that he owns, a man who was present pointed a gun at him and climbed out the bedroom window, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him and damaged his car at about midnight Saturday, Oct. 11, in the 4400 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man reported that as he was driving with a woman, a car followed him, and that when he stopped at a red light, a man got out of the car and broke the driver’s-side window with a bat, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that two men stole her car at about 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the 4700 block of North Albany Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old woman reported that as she was driving on Albany, a vehicle struck her car and two men got out and demanded that she pay for the damage, according to police. The woman said that when she told the men that she would not pay them and that she would call the police, one of the men pointed a gun at her, told her to get out of her car and drove away in her 2004 Toyota, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6300 block of North Lawndale Avenue was burglarized at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a silver dish valued at $5,000, a candelabra valued at $1,000, 12 plates valued at $5,000, a menorah valued at $3,000, four earrings valued at $20,000, two necklaces, seven wigs, two cell phones, miscellaneous jewelry valued at $3,000 and $1,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3600 block of West Rosemont Avenue was burglarized at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the back door was open and that $20,000 worth of jewelry, seven designer purses valued at $10,00 and five bank cards were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that two men broke into her home in the 4300 block of West Roscoe Street at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 56-year-old woman reported that she heard a noise when she was in her garage and then saw two men run out of the back door of the house to a tan Chevrolet Blazer, according to police. The woman said that she discovered that 10 silver dollars valued at $740, four rings and $65 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3400 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the kitchen door was open and that a safe containing watches valued at $1,600 and $7,000 in cash, a suitcase and a Nike backpack were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5100 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 10:10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door was open and that two television sets valued at $2,700 and four iPads were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in the 6400 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a car that was speeding, and the driver was arrested after the officer smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath and he failed sobriety tests, according to police. A passenger was charged with obstructing a police officer because he allegedly tried to interfere with the arrest, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Jose Solano-Huerta, age 30, of the 4800 block of North Troy Street, and Jose Hernandez-Irineo, age 33, of the 4800 block of North Sawyer Avenue.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 11:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer who responded to a report of a man sleeping in his car discovered the man asleep with the engine running and damage to the front of the vehicle, and the man was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jorge Escobedo, age 37, of the 3700 block of North Sawyer Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman conceal $220.95 worth of hosiery and a wallet and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Amel W. David, age 47, of the 5500 block of North Central Avenue.
TWO WOMEN were arrested after they allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the women conceal $405 worth of merchandise and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Khurram Zaidi, age 35, and Farzana J. Abidi, age 29, both of the 6500 block of North Washtenaw Avenue.
