Local Crime from 17th District 11-19-2016
A MAN REPORTED that a man fired a gun at him at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in an alley in the 3300 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 34-year-old man reported that he saw two men break into his neighbor’s garage, and the 53-year-old neighbor reported that he chased the men into a yard on Belle Plaine, where one of the men turned and fired a gun at him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man fired a gun at him at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the 4900 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 22-year-old man reported a passenger in a passing black Nissan Altima fired a gun at him, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the 4800 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 48-year-old woman reported that a man approached her, displayed a handgun and demanded her car keys, and that when she refused, he knocked her to the ground and then fled when a man came to her aid, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the 3400 block of West Carmen Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that a man approached him with a gun and that when he kicked the man, he hit him on the head with an unknown object and took his cell phone and his wallet containing $40, according to police. The man said that the assailant fled in a car driven by a second man, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the 3300 block of North Avers Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that two men armed with guns took his cell phone and his wallet containing three debit cards, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the 4700 North Sawyer Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 22-year-old woman reported that a man attempted to take her cell phone and that when she refused to give it to him the man punched her in the eye, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the 6200 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 44-year-old woman reported that she was on her front porch and that when she turned to enter her home a man grabbed her by the neck and took her purse containing her cell phone, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4900 block of North Kentucky Avenue was burglarized at about 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that jewelry valued at $2,000 and $700 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3400 block of North Monticello Avenue was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a rear window was open and that jewelry valued at $400, an external hard drive and a social security card were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with public indecency following his arrest at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the parking lot of Malnati’s restaurant, 6649 N. Lincoln Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
A man and a woman reported that they saw a man who appeared to be intoxicated expose his penis and fondle himself in the parking lot, according to police. The man admitted to putting his hand down his pants but denied that he exposed himself, police said. The man began to masturbate at the police station and was ordered to stop, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Ram Bhingradia, age 57, of the 3900 block of West Arthur Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 10:10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the parking lot of Planet Fitness, 6850 N. McCormick Blvd., according to Lincolnwood police.
A woman reported that she saw a broken rear passenger window on the man’s vehicle and informed the man, who reported that $120 and a backpack containing his wallet, bank cards and identification were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her car was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, and 9:30 a.m. the following day while it was parked in the 6500 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that her engagement ring valued at $2,700, a pair of shoes valued at $17 and $15 in change were missing from the vehicle, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, the following day while it was parked in the 7000 block of North Keystone Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that a fleece jacket, a fleece vest, two nursing scrubs and a box containing bags of potato chips were missing, according to police.
