Local Crime from 17th District 11-9-13
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the 3400 block of West Berteau Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 50-year-old man reported that three men approached him, that one of them displayed a handgun and that the three took his cell phone, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she and a friend were attacked and robbed at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the 3700 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old woman reported that as she was walking with a friend, two people approached them from behind, struck her in the face with what she believed to be a flashlight, and took her friend’s BMX bicycle, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the 7-Eleven, 3800 N. Kedzie Ave., was robbed at about 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 55-year-old man reported that a man wearing a black Halloween mask entered the store, implied that he had a gun and took $80 from the cash register, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5100 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front and side doors were open and that about $6,800 worth of jewelry was missing, according to police. The home’s telephone line had been cut, and the inside of the home had been vandalized, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4900 block of North Bernard Street was burglarized between 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the kitchen window was open and that a 47-inch television set, two laptop computers, three watches, vehicle parts and a digital camera were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4500 block of North Springfield Avenue was burglarized between 11:45 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that as she approached her home, she saw a man leave the house through the rear door and that she discovered that miscellaneous jewelry and $800 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the 5200 bock of Devon Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
After an officer stopped a car that was swerving, the driver was arrested when he failed sobriety tests and a test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.158, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Jin H. Choi, age 32, of the 1900 block of Grover Drive, Mount Prospect.
A WOMAN reported that her car was stolen between 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and 1 a.m. the following day while it was parked in the 3900 block of West Chase Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she left the car unlocked and that a spare key was in the glove compartment, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 7300 block of North Tripp Avenue was burglarized between 5:20 and 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been broken in and that about $300 in cash was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 7100 block of North Keystone Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 and 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the door between the kitchen and the garage was open and that several pieces of jewelry, cuff links and a college class ring were missing, according to police.
TWO MEN were charged with possession of marijuana following their arrest at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the 3900 block of Chase Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers who responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle discovered 6.2 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana in the car, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Nicholas A. Reyes, age 20, of the 6700 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue and Marquis L. Young, age 20, of the 7600 block of North Nora Avenue, Niles.
