A TEENAGER was fatally shot at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, in an alley in the 3700 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responding to a report of a person shot discovered the 17-year-old lying on the ground with a wound to the back of his head, according to police.
The teen’s mother reported that she saw two men running from the scene, and two suspects were being questioned, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 1:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the 4100 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that a car with four occupants stopped and one of the men asked his gang affiliation, and that when he said that he is not in a gang, another car approached and someone struck him on the head with a baseball bat, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with aggravated assault and committing a hate crime following his arrest at about noon Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the 4000 block of West Argyle Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A mail carrier reported that the man pushed his mail cart, shouted racial slurs at him and ordered his dog to attack him, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Ahmed Cosovic, age 27, of the 5000 block of North Keeler Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 10:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the 4900 block of North Christiana Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old woman reported that a man displayed a handgun and took her purse and her cell phone, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the 4400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 45-year-old man reported that two men attacked him and that one of them stabbed him in the shoulder as they stole his wallet, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly robbed a woman at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the 3600 block of West Ainslie Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 62-year-old woman reported that as she was entering her building, the man knocked her to the ground and took her purse and her shopping bag, according to police. Officers found a man who fit the description that the woman provided, and he fled as they approached him, police said. He was arrested after the woman identified him, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Thomas Leon, age 23, of the 5100 block of West North Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the 4700 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 88-year-old woman reported that a man pushed his way into her building and took her purse containing $800, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in the 4400 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old woman reported that a man on a bicycle grabbed her purse from her shoulder, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 6300 block of North Monticello Avenue had been burglarized at about 8:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear glass door had been shattered and that jewelry was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4700 block of North Kewanee Avenue had been burglarized at about 11:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the side door had been broken in and that a laptop computer was missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 1:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the 7100 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
After an officer stopped a car that was swerving, the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests and a test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.179.
The suspect was identified by police as Jonathan D. Kabb, age 29, of the 8000 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, Skokie.
A WOMAN was arrested at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, after she allegedly stole items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
Employees reported that they saw the woman place a shirt and two candy bars in her bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Parveen Akhtar, age 48, of the 5400 block of North Artesian Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested at about 2:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, after she allegedly stole items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take $113 worth of merchandise and leave without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Dimpalben B. Patel, age 21, of the 2700 block of West Lunt Avenue.
TWO WOMEN were arrested at about 5:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, after they allegedly stole items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
Employees reported that they saw the women take approximately $2,400 worth of clothing and jewelry and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Marianna Apantenco, age 34, of the 2600 block of West Albion Avenue, and Marbella Castneda, age 28, of the 2700 block of Arthur Avenue.
