Local Crime from 17th District 11-26-2016
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly attacked a woman at about 6 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the 5700 block of North Lowell Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 76-year-old woman reported that when she went to investigate a woman screaming outside her apartment the woman punched her in the eye, pulled her hair and scratched her, according to police. Responding officers arrested the woman, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Christina R. Calvillo, age 27, of the 4700 block of North Kewanee Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in the 4900 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 49-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and took his cell phone, according to police.
A CUSTOMER reported that the Lawrence Fruit Market, 3318 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., was robbed at gunpoint at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old woman reported that a man followed the cashier behind the counter, displayed a handgun and took $500 in cash and a personal check for $100 from the cash register, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in the 2800 block of West Roscoe Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 21-year-old man reported that two men punched him, knocked him to the ground and took his wallet containing $60, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the 4800 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that as he was putting laundry into the trunk of his car, a man asked him if he sold cocaine, shoved him to the ground and took his gold chain valued at $700, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her former boyfriend attacked her at about 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at her home in the 4200 block of West Harrington Lane, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old woman reported that man forced his way inside her home, grabbed her head and pushed her into a counter top, causing a laceration to her temple and a lump under her eye, according to police said. The woman was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man attempted to rob the Mexico Transfers store, 3407 W. Lawrence Ave., at about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 44-year-old woman reported that a man demanded money and that he man fled when she told him that the police had been called and that he was being recorded on camera, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4700 block of North Karlov Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that an envelope containing $2,000 was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of North Albany Avenue was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a front window was broken and that an Xbox video game console valued at $400, a pair of shoes valued at $200 and jewelry valued at $3,000 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4000 block of North Drake Avenue was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when her daughter told her that when she returned home from school she discovered that a 60-inch television set was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into his home in the 4700 block of North Drake Avenue at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered a man leaving his home and that the front door and a window were open and three necklaces valued at $1,200 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3200 block of West Grace Street was burglarized between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, and 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and a safe containing a ring valued at $1,500 and $1,000 in cash was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3700 block of North Troy Street was burglarized between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that three necklaces valued at $600, two watches valued at $300 and $2,700 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3700 block of North Kedvale Avenue was burglarized between 10:30 a.m. and 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front window was unlocked and that an iPad valued at $700 and an iPad case were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the 4800 block of West Devon Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer approached a vehicle that remained stationary through several stop light cycles and discovered that the driver was asleep, and the man was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police. A small amount of marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Nenif M. Oshana, age 24, of the 2500 block of West Berwyn Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., between 12:30 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man conceal four clothing items valued at $180 under his clothing and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Jamal S. Jazairli, age 18, of the 8300 block of Lockwood Avenue, Skokie.
