Local Crime from 17th District 11-5-2016
WITNESSES reported that shots were fired at two teenagers at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the 5100 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that a passenger in a passing car fired four to six shots at two teenagers who were walking on a trail near the North Branch of the Chicago River, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at knifepoint at about 1:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the 4900 block of North Kedvale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 38-year-old man reported that a man displayed a knife and took his backpack containing a laptop computer valued at $1,400, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the 4300 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 61-year-old man reported that he had an argument with a man in the street and that the man punched him in the face, according to police. The man was treated at Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that a man fired at gun at his car at about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, as he was driving in the 3100 block of West School Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported a man standing on the street fired five shots at his car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the 4400 block of North Avers Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that a man pressed an object in his back and another man took his cell phone, according to police. The man said that when one of the men tried to take his wallet it from his pocket he slapped the man and the two fled, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was stolen at about 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the 4800 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 57-year-old woman reported that as she was walking through a parking lot, a man rode up on a bicycle and took her purse containing $300, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3400 block of North Monticello Avenue was burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the window air conditioning unit had been pushed in and that four rings, two necklaces, three earrings, a bracelet and $370 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4500 block of North Drake Avenue was burglarized at about 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that his neighbor told him that a window was broken and that when he returned home he discovered that 20 baseball cards and $5,700 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3800 block of North Saint Louis Avenue was burglarized at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been forced open and that a toolbox containing $250 worth of tools was missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
FIVE LINCOLNWOOD residents reported that their vehicles were broken into in the driveways of their homes between 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, according to Lincolnwood police.
The break-ins were reported in the 4600 block of West Fitch Avenue, the 6500 block of North Knox Avenue, the 6800 block of North Kenton Avenue, the 6800 block of North Kenton Avenue and the 6700 block of North Keating Avenue, according to police.
Car burglaries also were reported between noon Friday, Oct. 14, and 1:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in the 6600 block of North Trumbull Avenue between 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, and 1 a.m. the following day in the 4100 block of West Touhy Avenue, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he discovered that his storage unit at Lock Up Self Storage, 3850 W. Devon Ave., was burglarized, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he discovered that a 65-inch Samsung television set valued at $4,500 and a 55-inch LG television set valued at $500 were missing, according to police. The man reported that had not checked the unit since Aug. 28, police said.
A WOMAN WAS arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 6:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman place jewelry valued at $128 in her purse and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Evelyn Abraham, age 70, of the 2800 block of West Granville Avenue.
