Local Crime from 17th District 12-7-13


A COUPLE REPORTED that two men threatened them in an apparent gang-related incident at about 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man and the woman, age 22 and 23, reported that a man asked their gang affiliation while a second man pointed a gun at them, and that the men fled south on Central Park, according to police.

A COUPLE REPORTED that a group of men attacked them in an apparent gang related incident at about 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, in the 4700 block of North Sacramento Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man and the woman, both age 22, reported that a group of four or five men shouted gang slogans at them and that one of them struck them both on the head with a handgun, according to police. The woman was treated a Swedish Covenant Hospital for abrasions, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the 3600 block of West Leland Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 22-year-old man reported that a man displayed a gun and took his cell phone valued at $500, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Cricket store, 3314 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that that the business was robbed at about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that the man entered the store wearing a mask and had his hand in his sweatshirt implying that he had a gun and took $470 in cash and fled north on Milwaukee, according to police.
The man was described as white, 6-2 and 250 pounds, and wearing black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants with a red stripe, construction gloves, black shoes and a black mask.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, in the 3500 block of West Leland Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 35-year-old man reported that after he parked his car, a man knocked on the passenger window and a second man opened the driver’s-side door, punched him in the face and took $150 from his wallet, according to police.
One of the men was described as white/Hispanic, age 20 to 30, 5-1 and 170 pounds. The other man was described as white/Hispanic, age 20 to 30, 5-9 and 240 pounds.

A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into his home at about 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, in the 4200 block of North Mozart Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 35-year-old man reported that he heard a noise and that when he opened the door to the kitchen he discovered a man holding his two laptop computers valued at $1,700, according to police. The resident said that when he confronted the intruder, he grabbed a kitchen knife and pointed it at him and then fled through the back door with his items, police said.
The man was described as white/Hispanic, age 30 to 40, 5-6 and 165 pounds, and wearing a black skullcap, a black jacket and blue jeans.
