Local Crime from 17th District 2-1-20
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Montrose CTA Blue Line station, 4600 W. Montrose Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 50-year-old man reported that as he was waiting for a train a man approached him with his hands in his pockets and demanded his belongings, according to police. The man reported that he complied and the man fled on foot, police said.
The man was described as wearing a blue jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in the lobby of the Chase Bank at 4824 N. Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that he was withdrawing money from the ATM and had input his PIN when four men approached the door and one man entered the lobby, according to police. The man reported that the man pushed him aside and held him with his left hand and withdrew $1,000 with his right hand while the other three men stood guard, police said. The man reported that all four men then fled in a vehicle that was parked on North Pulaski Road, according to police.
The men were described as black.
A WOMAN reported that she was carjacked at about 9:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in the 3400 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old woman reported that she was walking to her vehicle when two men approached her and demanded the keys to her vehicle and fled south in her car, according to police.
The men were described as black, age 20 to 30. One of the men was further described as being between 5-8 and 5-11, 140 to 160 pounds and wearing a black Canada Goose jacket.
AN EMPLOYEE of the 7-Eleven store, 2900 W. Montrose Ave., reported that the business was robbed at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that three men entered the store and one of the men walked up to the register, pointed a gun at him and demanded to open the register, according to police. The employee reported that the other two men went around the counter to collect the cash from the register and also took liquor bottles valued at about $200 and cigarettes valued at about $200 before all three men fled the store, police said.
The man with the gun was described as black, age 45 to 55, with a birthmark on the left side of his face and wearing a red jacket with a fur-trim hood, black jeans and a gray and red backpack. The other two men were described as black, age 20 to 25.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Walgreen’s store, 3424 W. Belmont, reported that store was robbed at about 8:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that he saw two men grab a 12-pack of beer from the shelf and walked out without paying for the beer, according to police. The employee reported when he tried to stop the men one of the men pulled out a knife cut him his left hand, according to police.
The men were described as white/Hispanic. One of the men was described as wearing a gray jacket. The other man was described as wearing a red jacket.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the 4500 block of North Bernard Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old man reported that he was walking home when he saw a man following him, according to police. The man reported that the man told him to turn around and lifted his shirt to show a gun in his waistband, and told the man to empty his pockets and took $4, police said.
The man was described as age 25 to 30, 5-10, 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the 3700 block of West Cullom Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that he was walking east on West Cullom Avenue when he saw a man walking toward him, according to police. The man reported that the man then stepped into his path and pushed him in the chest with his shoulder, grabbed him by the arm and said, "You’re trying to get shot," then lifted his shirt to show a gun in his waistband and said, "Wallet" as he racked the slide of the gun, police said. The man reported he gave the man his wallet and the man demanded his phone so he gave the man his phone and the man fled northbound on North Ridgeway Avenue, according to police.
The man was described as white Hispanic, 5-7 and weighing 135 pounds.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about midnight Sunday, Jan. 26, in the 4300 block of North Keystone Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported that he was leaving for work when three men crossed the street and one of the men asked for a cigarette and spare change, according to police. The man reported that when he told the men he had neither, the man that asked for the cigarette pointed a gun and said to give him whatever he had, police said. The man reported that he pulled out his wallet and one of the men grabbed it from his hand, then all three men fled northbound on North Keystone Avenue, according to police.
The men were described as black age 16 to 18, 5-8 to 5-10. The man with the gun was described as weighing 140 to 160 pounds with dreadlocks. The other two men were described as weighing 150 to 180 pounds.
