A MAN REPORTED that a man attempted to rob him at gunpoint at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the 5300 block of North Sawyer Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 44-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and demanded his belongings and that he said that he only had a set of keys, according to police. The man said that when the man demanded his cell phone he told him that he would not give it to him and the man fled, police said.
A COUPLE reported that a man attempted to rob them at gunpoint at about 10:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the 3500 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 51-year-old man and the 54-year-old woman reported that a man displayed a handgun and demanded money and that when she screamed the man fled, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that he was robbed at about 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the 4700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 14-year-old teen reported that as he was walking two teenagers approached him and one of them displayed a handgun and took his cell phone and $2.75, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at gunpoint at about 5:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, in the 2800 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 48-year-old man reported that three men got out of a car and one of them displayed a handgun and took his keys, a bus card, his cell phone and $20, according to police. The man said that one of the men punched him in the face twice when he would not give them the password to his phone and that he ran to a nearby convenience store and the employee locked the doors and called police, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at gunpoint at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the 4000 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that two men wearing ski masks approached him and one of them displayed a handgun and took his cell phone, an identification card, a pack of cigarettes and $20, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the 6300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 25-year-old woman reported that two men got out of a sport utility vehicle wearing ski masks and one of them displayed a handgun and the two took her wallet, a backpack containing books and her cell phone, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the 3500 block of West Carmen Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old man reported that two men wearing ski masks approached him and one of them displayed a handgun, struck him in the face and took his cell phone, a lunch bag, keys and $5 from him, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly robbed a man at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the 3600 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 40-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and took $140, keys, a pocketknife, a cell phone and a check for $500 and fled, according to police. Officers found a man who matched the description that was provided in the 3700 block of West Leland Avenue who had stolen items in his possession, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Brallan Arteaga, age 18, of the 3600 block of West Wilson Avenue.
THE OWNER of the T&C Grocery Market, 4754 N. Bernard St., reported that the business was robbed at gunpoint at about 8:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 44-year-old man reported that two men entered the store and one of them displayed a handgun and took $800, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that Capone’s liquor store, 3678 N. Elston Ave., was robbed at about 9:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 55-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and a second man entered the store and the two took $1,300 from the cash register, $400 from a can on the counter and $280 from his wallet, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about noon Wednesday, Feb. 8, as he was driving in the 3200 block of West Peterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that a man drove next to him, displayed a handgun and followed him until he reached the police station, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4600 block of West Lawrence Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that a laptop computer valued at $900, a watch valued at $200 and six jerseys valued at $600 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4900 block of North Kostner Avenue was burglarized between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the basement door had been forced open and that a safe containing two watches, two rings, a Michael Jordan rookie of the year card, an autographed Troy Aikman card, an autographed Michael Jordan jersey, basketball, jewelry, a birth certificate and $25,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3500 block of North Lawndale Avenue was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a rear window was open and that two purses valued at $100 were missing, according to police.
A COUPLE reported that their home in the 3200 block of North Monticello Avenue was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that a kitchen window was open and that a laptop computer valued at $1,500, jewelry, 30 action figures valued at $2,400, six watches valued at $4,000, six purses valued at $500, three bracelets valued at $6,000, four rings valued at $800, social security cards and passports, and $400 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly broke into a home in the 4800 block of North Kilbourn Avenue at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A witness reported that she heard glass breaking at her neighbor’s home and saw a car parked in the alley, and responding officers saw a man run out the back door, according to police. Officers chased the man and placed him into custody in the 4900 block of North Kolmar Avenue, police said.
A credit card taken from the home was found in the man’s possession, and two desktop computers reported stolen from the Albany Park Theater Project in the Field Park fieldhouse, 5100 N. Ridgeway Ave., and a tablet were found in the man’s car, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Emelio Nolano, age 25, of the 5900 block West Superior Street.
A SHIFT manager reported that a man shoplifted items from the CVS Pharmacy store, 7179 N. Lincoln Ave., at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, according to Lincolnwood police.
The shift manager reported that she saw a man carrying a bag containing items from the sales floor leave the store without paying for the items, according to police. An inventory showed that 44 packages of Gillette razor blades valued at $528 were missing, police said.
A MAN WAS arrested in connection with an armed robbery that was reported at about 9:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the 6500 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
A 58-year-old man reported that a man got out of a car, displayed a handgun, took his wallet and fled in the vehicle, according to police. The suspect was arrested in the 1300 block of West Garfield Boulevard, and a handgun and the man’s wallet were found in his possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Alonzo J. Coates, age 18, of the 4300 block of South Langley Avenue.
A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman take eye shadow valued at $20 and leave the store without paying for it, according to police. Officers discovered four clothing items valued at $120 and their price tags in the woman’s purse, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Lia B. Hoffmann, age 55, of the 1100 block of West Farwell Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted an item from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 1:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man put a leather jacket valued at $215 in a backpack and leave the store without paying for it, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Francisco Mendoza, age 20, of the 6900 block of North Paulina Street.
