Local Crime from 17th District 2-27-2016
EMPLOYEES of Sears, 4730 W. Irving Park Road, reported that a man threatened them at about 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
An employee reported that she saw a man carry a 55-inch television set out of the store into a loading dock area where a second man was waiting in a 2002 Cadillac Deville, according to police. Two security guards reported that when they confronted the man he dropped the television set and that during a struggle the man shouted to the driver to "get the gun," police said. The men reported that the driver got out of the car and grabbed his side and the men fled, police said.
FOUR PEOPLE reported that a man threatened them with a gun at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the drive-through lane of the McDonald’s restaurant, 3241 W. Peterson Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 20-year-old woman reported that she was in a car with three men and that a car approached and a man displayed a handgun and shouted gang slogans, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he fought with an officer outside the police station at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
An officer saw a man holding a belt and pulling on a handle of a vehicle that was parked in front of the station, 4650 N. Pulaski Road, according to police. As the officer began to get out of the squad car, the man charged at him and shut the squad car door and then entered the squad car and fought with the officer, police said. The man and was arrested after he was electrically shocked, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Gregory D. Williams, age 34, of the 500 block of West 14th Place.
A PIZZA delivery driver reported that he was robbed at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the 3400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that as he was delivering a pizza, a man and a woman approached him and the man displayed a knife and took his cell phone and his wallet containing $600, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that she was robbed at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in an alley in the 3700 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 17-year-old teen reported that a man got out of a truck, displayed a handgun and took $185 from her while a second man with a baseball bat stood nearby, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, in the 4700 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 46-year-old man reported that a man with a baseball bat threatened him and a second man took his backpack and his wallet, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that two men attempted to rob him at about 5:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, in the 3600 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 47-year-old man reported that when he parked his car two men demanded money and one of them displayed a handgun and that the men fled when he said that he did not have any, according to police.

The 49-year-old man reported that two men approached him and that one of them displayed a knife and took the food, his cell phone and $600, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed and his car was stolen at about 2:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Superior Super Car Wash, 4550 W. Addison St., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that two men approached him and that one of them displayed a knife and took his car keys and the men fled in his 2013 Ford Fiesta, according to police.

The 25-year-old man reported that he two men approached him and that one of them displayed a knife and took the food, his debit cards and $100, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 33-year-old man reported that two men punched him and took $1,597 from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the 3000 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 46-year-old man reported that a man punched him in the face and took $200 and his backpack from him, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his neighbor’s home in the 4000 block of West Patterson Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that his neighbor’s home’s rear door was open and that a window was broken, according to police. The owner of the home reported that that a safe containing documents and bottles of pills was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3200 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that $700 in cash was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4800 block of North Kentucky Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door had been forced open and that $120 in cash was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3700 block of West Cornelia Avenue was burglarized at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a side window was broken and that jewelry valued at $300 and a laptop computer valued at $1,400 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3400 block of North Hamlin Avenue was burglarized at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a side window had been forced open and that a necklace and three bracelets were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was stolen at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 68-year-old woman reported that a man took her purse containing a wallet with $100 in cash and credit cards and her cell phone, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
AN EMPLOYEE of the Cellphonia store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., reported that his cell phone was stolen between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19.
The employee reported that he plugged his Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cell phone valued at $550 into an outlet to charge its battery while he left the store to visit the food court and that when he returned the phone was missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with possession of marijuana following his arrest at about 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the 7200 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding, and a passenger was arrested after the officer smelled the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle and discovered a folded-up piece of paper containing 1.5 grams of marijuana in his possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Matt P. Overpack, age 20, of the 2800 block of West Fitch Avenue.
