Local Crime from 17th District 2-4-17
A 15-YEAR-OLD youth was shot during a suspected drug deal at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the 3800 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department of News Affairs and the 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers were told that at a meeting with a man to purchase drugs, the teen displayed a handgun and attempted to rob him, and that during a struggle he was shot in the neck, according to police. The youth was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that two men attempted to rob him at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in the 3200 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old man reported that two men approached him and one displayed a handgun and demanded his belongings, and that when he refused, the other man punched him in the face and tried to reach into his pocket before they fled, according to police.
EMPLOYEES reported that TCF Bank, 3570 N. Elston Ave., was robbed at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A teller reported that a woman handed her an envelope containing a note that demanded money and that she gave the woman $469, according to police. The teller said that the woman fled with a man, police said.
The woman was described as black, age 20 to 25 and 5-9 to 5-10, and wearing a black jacket, a black and white shirt, a hat and sunglasses. The man was described as black, age 20 to 28 and 5-9 to 5-10, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, maroon pants, a hat and sunglasses.
A WOMAN reported that a man took her purse at about 1:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, on the platform at the CTA Addison Blue Line station, 3622 W. Addison St., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old woman reported that a man asked her for a light to his cigarette and then took her purse containing her cell phone and a debit card, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4100 block of North Lowell Avenue was burglarized between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the patio door was open and that a screen television set was missing, according to police. A 33-year-old witness reported that he confronted a man who was carrying a television set in his gangway in the 4100 block of North Kostner Avenue and that the man dropped the set and fled, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4400 block of West School Street was burglarized between 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, and 5:30 p.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a side window was open and that two tablets were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that apartments in the 3800 block of West Roscoe Street that are being rehabbed were burglarized between 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he went to check on the apartments he discovered that copper pipes valued at $8,000 were missing from four units, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3500 block of North Lawndale Avenue was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a rear window was open and that two designer purses valued at $1,000 were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS issued a citation for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at about 11:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in the 6300 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was traveling without its headlights turned on and the driver was issued a local ordinance citation for possession of cannabis after the officer smelled the odor of marijuana and discovered a bag containing approximately 4.75 grams of marijuana in the vehicle, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Michael Lorenzo Raschke, age 19, of the 2600 block of West Winnemac Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that her locker at Public Storage, 3850 W. Devon Ave., was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, and 11:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she discovered that storage containers had been turned over but that she did not know if any items were missing, according to police. The woman reported that the padlocks on both doors to the unit were locked and that a corner of the locker’s wire screen ceiling was bent upward with containers stacked under the opening, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that the catalytic converter was stolen from his 1999 Ford F350 pickup truck between 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, and 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, according to Lincolnwood police.
