Local Crime from 17th District 3-21-15
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked in a gang-related incident at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, March 14, in the 3500 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that two men threw bottles at his car, shouted gang slogans and displayed handguns at him, according to police. The man reported that he struck two vehicles as he fled, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE of Kmart, 3443 W. Addison St., reported that a man threatened him at about 11:45 p.m. Friday, March 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 57-year-old employee reported that he saw a man put a bottle of cologne in his pants and leave the store without paying for it, and that when he confronted the man, he threatened him with a box cutter, according to police.
A MAN WAS stabbed at about 4:45 p.m. Friday, March 13, in the 4500 block of North Karlov Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 51-year-old man reported that during an argument with a man in an apartment, three men knocked him to the ground and stabbed him, according to police. The man was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition with two stab wounds to the back, one wound to the abdomen, one to the thigh and one to the forearm, according to police.

The 26-year-old man reported that as he was taking out the garbage, two men asked his gang affiliation, then kicked and punched him and struck him with a bottle, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4700 block of North Tripp Avenue was burglarized at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the basement door had been forced open and that a sewer tool valued at $3,000 was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5500 block of North Saint Louis Avenue was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a wedding band valued at $2,000, necklaces valued at $3,500, a bracelet valued at $500 and $7,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3800 block of North Kilbourn Avenue was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. Monday, March 16, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the basement door had been forced open and that a red ruby chip valued at $500, a diamond ring valued at $500, a stone valued at $250, a necklace valued at $250, a watch valued at $150 and a laptop computer valued at $750 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3000 block of West Lawrence Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a rear window was broken and that a laptop computer valued at $300, a 32-inch television set valued at $300 and speakers valued at $200 were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN AND a woman were arrested after they allegedly shoplifted items at the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 14, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man conceal $78 worth of items and the woman conceal $195.99 worth of items and that the two left the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Juan Zamorano, age 34, of the 2700 block of North Lockwood Avenue, and Blanca Zamorano, age 44, of the 2700 block of North Lockwood Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that cash was taken from his vehicle at about 2:40 p.m. Monday, March 16, while it was parked in the 3800 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that $3,560 in cash was missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of drugs following his arrest at about 3 a.m. Monday, March 16, in the 5300 block of West Devon Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
A sport utility vehicle struck a squad car and damaged the mirror, and the driver was pulled over and arrested after officers suspected that he was under the influence of drugs and he failed a drug test, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Antonio Ferrer, age 19, of the 1600 block of Coolidge Avenue, Aurora.
