Local Crime from 17th District 3-28-15
THE OWNER OF the Alibaba Hookah Bar, 4046 W. Lawrence Ave., reported that the business was robbed at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday, March 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 55-year-old man reported that two men entered the store looking for the driver of a vehicle that was parked in front of the business and one of the men displayed a gun and threatened to shoot him if they found out that he was hiding the driver, according to the police.
A MAN WAS shot at about 2:55 a.m. Saturday, March 21, in the 5200 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 20-year old woman reported that as she was walking with the man, an occupant of a passing car fired several shots, striking the man, according to police. The woman said that as they ran away, a man emerged from bushes and fired at them, striking the man again, police said.
The man was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Game Stop store, 3951 N. Cicero Ave., was robbed at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man entered the store with a handgun and took two cashier till trays valued at $25 and $400 from the cash register, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was snatched at about 8:50 a.m. Friday, March 20, in the 4600 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 51-year-old woman reported that a man approached her and took her purse valued at $100 and containing $200 from her, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6200 block of North Drake Avenue was burglarized between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been broken in and that a videocassette recorder was missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, while it was parked in the 3800 block of West Morse Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that a Stihl saw valued at $1,000 was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6900 block of North Keystone Avenue was burglarized between 6:45 and 11:40 p.m. Friday, March 20, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door had been broken in and that two jewelry boxes containing jewelry valued at $30,000 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3900 West Arthur Avenue was burglarized at about 2:40 p.m. Saturday, March 21, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door and a rear sliding door were open and that a safe containing jewelry valued at $20,000 was missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred at about 2:20 p.m. Friday, March 20, in the 3100 block of West Pratt Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer pursued a vehicle that left the scene of a traffic accident, and the driver was arrested after he fled the vehicle, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Victor H. Castrejon, age 19, of the 900 block of Fowler Avenue, Evanston.
