Local Crime from 17th District 3-29-14
A MAN REPORTED that a home in the 6300 block of North Keeler Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man, who has been checking the home, reported that he discovered that the front door had been forced opened and that jewelry was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6100 block of North Lawndale Avenue was burglarized between 2:15 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Friday, March 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been forced open and that two watches valued at $20,000 and jewelry were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5100 block of North Hamlin Avenue was burglarized between 2:45 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a digital camera valued at $300, an iPod valued at $150 and a Logitech docking station valued at $150 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3700 block of West Ainslie Street was burglarized between 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, and 12:30 a.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been opened and that six necklaces valued at $500 and $500 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3100 block of West Lawrence Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a cell phone valued at $600 and $460 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his neighbor’s home in the 4700 block of North Saint Louis Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that his neighbor’s front door had been forced open and the resident reported that three watches valued at $2,050 and an iPad valued at $800 were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
OFFICERS discovered that a home in the 3900 block of West Arthur Avenue had been burglarized at about 2:25 p.m. Thursday, March 20, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers discovered that the front door of the home was open and a glass sliding door had been shattered, and residents later reported that a safe containing $150,000 to $200,000 worth of jewelry, $10,000 in cash and $10,00 worth of clothing was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of drugs following her arrest at about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the 7100 block of North McCormick Boulevard, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer saw stopped a vehicle that changed lanes without a signal, and the driver was arrested after the officer detected the odor of marijuana on her breath and saw remnants of the drugs on her pants and failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Melissa Ferrusquia, age 19, of the 2600 block of West Fitch Avenue.
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, March 23, in the 3600 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was weaving and speeding and that ran a red light, and the driver was arrested after the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Coco A. Ajavon, age 20, of the 7400 block of North Greenview Avenue.
A WOMAN WAS arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, after she allegedly stole items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw a woman conceal 29 items of clothing and jewelry valued at $926.95 and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Maria Trusca-Haidu, age 63, of the 1800 block of West Peterson Avenue.
A WOMAN WAS arrested at about 5:25 p.m. Sunday, March 23, after she allegedly stole items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman place a necklace valued at $38 in her sweatshirt and leave the store without paying for the item, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Irina Epshtein, age 54, of the 800 block of Willow Road, Prospect Heights.
A WOMAN WAS arrested at about 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, after she allegedly stole items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that she saw the woman conceal jewelry and a purse valued at $408.95 and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Mildred Deleon-Jimenez, age 53, of the 200 block of Hallock Street, Jamestown, N.Y.
