Local Crime from 17th District 3-5-2016
WITNESSES reported that a man fired a gun at a vehicle at about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the 3100 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Two men reported that they saw a man fire several shots at a silver Hyundai that was speeding, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in the 3700 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that he met three men to sell some property and that one of them displayed a knife and a second man struck him on the head with a beer bottle and took two sweaters and a pair of jeans from him, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly broke into a home in the 6100 block of North Kildare Avenue, charges at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 34-year-old reported that he saw a man in his home and that the man fled when he confronted him, according to police. Responding officers found a man who matched the description that was provided in the 6000 block of North Sauganash Avenue and found burglary tools in his possession, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Stefon D. Hutcherson, age 29, of the 2700 block of West Harrison Street.
A WOMAN reported that a man broke into her home in the 5900 block of North Bernard Street at about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 35-year-old woman reported that she heard a knock on the door and that when she did not answer, a man forced open the door and then fled when she confronted him, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man stole her wallet at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the 4700 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old woman reported that after she got off a bus, a man took her wallet containing her social security card, her driver’s license and $20 in cash, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about noon Friday, Feb. 26, in the 4800 block of North Christiana Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 21-year-old man reported that a group of men demanded his belongings, according to police. The man said that he punched one of the men and that a second man struck him on the back with a wrench and the third man struck him in the left eye with a baseball bat, police said. The man was treated at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the 5000 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that three men attacked him and struck him with beer bottles, according to police. The man was treated at Lutheran General Hospital, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Convenient Food Mart, 4301 W. Irving Park Road, was robbed at gunpoint at about 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 57-year-old man reported that three men entered the store and that one of them displayed a handgun and took his cell phone and $1,100 from the cash register, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the 7-Eleven store, 5610 N. Kimball Ave., was robbed at gunpoint at about 12:25 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 52-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun and took two packs of cigarettes and an unknown amount of cash, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Happy Day Food and Liquor store, 3755 W. Montrose Ave., was robbed at about 8:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 49-year-old woman reported that three men entered the store and that two of them displayed handguns and the three took $1,800 from the cash register, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her purse was stolen at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the 4000 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old woman reported that a man took her purse and fled in a car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that her mother’s home in the 3800 block of West Eddy Street was burglarized between midnight Wednesday, Feb. 24, and 10 p.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door had been forced open and that a ring valued at $5,000, a chain valued at $1,000, a medallion valued at $300 and a checkbook were missing, according to police.
