Local Crime from 17th District 3-7-20
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 1, in the 3900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that he was riding his bicycle east on Lawrence when two men approached him and one of them knocked him off his bicycle and told him, "Don’t follow us, we have a gun," and they took his bicycle, according to police.
The men were described as black age 18 to 25 and 5-10.
A MAN REPORTED that shots were fired at his vehicle at about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the 4500 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that he was driving north on Hamlin Avenue when he saw a group of men walking south and one of the men walked into the street and fired a gun at his vehicle, according to police. Officers saw two bullet holes in the man’s rear bumper, three bullet holes in the rear window and one bullet hole in the passenger side rear tire, police said. Officers recovered 11 spent shell casings on the street, according to police.
The men were described only as age 17 to 23.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 4900 block of North Harding Avenue was burglarized between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday, March 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was unlocked and that $3,000 worth of jewelry was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 4500 block of North Kildare Avenue was burglarized between 2:50 and 4:20 p.m. Monday, March 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that $1,600 in jewelry and a purse valued at $150 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 4300 block of North Kimball Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her home she discovered that the front door has been opened and that two security cameras were missing, according to police.
SHOTS were fired at about 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in the 3300 block of North Kenneth Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A man reported hearing shots and seeing a burgundy Nissan Rogue fleeing northbound from the intersection of West Roscoe Street and North Kilbourn Avenue and officers discovered one spent shell casing, police said.
