Local Crime from 17th District 4-13-19
TWO MEN were shot at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the 4000 block of North Saint Louis Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A couple reported that they were at home when they heard three gunshots and the woman went outside and saw a man running into a white Dodge Magnum that sped away south on Saint Louis before turning west into an alley of Irving Park Road, according to police. Officers discovered two men age 26 and 29 on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds and they were transported in serious condition to Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said. Officers recovered three spent 9mm bullet casings on scene, police said.
The man was described as tall with a skinny build, and wearing a mask, khaki pants and a black jacket.
TWO MEN were arrested following a police chase at about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, that began in the 4200 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that they saw a group of six people in an argument and that two were armed and officers chased a black Jeep exiting an alley of Kimball and speeding down multiple streets, according to police. During the chase, a male passenger exited the Jeep at the intersection of Bernard and Cullom avenues and was detained after a foot chase while the Jeep continued to flee police until stopping in the 4400 block of North Kimball Avenue, where the male driver surrendered to police while another male passenger ran away south through an east alley of Kimball, police said.
Officers searched the vehicle and discovered two loaded handguns and the two men were arrested, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Ismael Delacruz, age 26, of the 5000 block of West 130th Street, and Abraham Pozo, age 25, of the 39200 block of Castleford Lane, Beach Park, Ill.
The third man was described as black with a light brown complexion, age 20 to 30, 5-10 to 6-0, 150 to 160 pounds, with brown afro-style hair.
TWO MEN reported that they were robbed at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the 3000 block of West Berteau Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The two men, age 27 and 25, reported that they were approached by two men and one of them pointed a handgun at them and demanded their belongings and took a wallet valued at $120, $61 in cash and a six-pack of beer before running away south on Whipple Avenue, according to police.
Both men were described as black, age 20 to 25, 5-7 to 5-8 and about 150 pounds, and wearing black or dark gray hooded sweatshirts.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5800 block of North Christiana Avenue was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 8 and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he received a phone call from a neighbor who observed that his rear window was missing and when he returned home he discovered that the rear window was removed and placed on a sofa inside and that an unknown amount of jewelry and unknown amount of cash were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
AN EMPLOYEE of Commonwealth Edison reported that the electric substation at 4402 W. Devon Ave. was burglarized between 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4, and 5:45 a.m. Friday, April 5, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that when he returned to work he discovered that a hole was cut in the fence and that a spool of copper wire valued at $1,000 was missing and that an electric grinder was removed but found on the street nearby and three trucks were searched but it was unclear if proceeds were missing from the vehicles, according to police.
