AN EMPLOYEE of the Family Dollar store, 3239 W. Lawrence Ave., reported that she was attacked by a shoplifter at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 31-year-old employee reported that she saw a man conceal bottles of shampoo under his clothing and that the man was stopped as he attempted to leave the store through a door that had been latched shut, according to police. The employee said that the man yelled at her, pushed her and forced his way through the door, police said.
The employee reported that she has seen the man shoplift personal care items from the store on several occasions in the past, police said.
A WOMAN reported that she was attacked and robbed at about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, in the 3300 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 56-year-old woman reported that a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and took her purse and $25 from her, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was attacked and robbed at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, in the 3300 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 42-year-old woman reported that as she was standing at a bus stop, a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and took her book bag, her cell phone and $35, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly stabbed a man at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the 4800 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 58-year-old man reported that a man approached him and stabbed him in the lower and upper back and that a friend drove him to Swedish Covenant Hospital, according to police. The man was later admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Responding officers found the suspect at the scene sitting on the curb with a wound on his right hand and blood on his hands, and the man was arrested after he confessed that he had stabbed a man, according to police. The man was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5700 block of North Jersey Avenue was burglarized at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that jewelry valued at $40,000 was missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5100 block of North Kostner Avenue was broken into at about 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that his burglar alarm company informed him that the alarm had been triggered and that when he returned home he discovered that the rear patio door and kitchen door had been broken in, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid driver’s license following his arrest at about 4:55 a.m. Sunday, April 5, in the 5000 block of West Touhy Avenue, Skokie, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding and swerving, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Rosalino Sanchez-Martinez, age 32, of the 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that her car was burglarized in the parking lot of the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her vehicle she discovered that a window was broken and that her duffel bag valued at $100 and a global positioning system device valued at $200 were missing, according to police.

The suspect was identified by police as Isabel Vilanova, age 68, of the 4000 block of North Oakley Avenue.

An employee reported that he saw the man conceal a pair of socks valued at $46 under his clothing and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Leonard Fernandez, age 27, of the 2000 block of North Laporte Avenue.
