A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1 a.m. Saturday, May 13, in the 4900 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 53-year-old man reported that he was smoking a cigarette inside his vehicle while stopped at a traffic light when a white van drove next to him and a male passenger asked him if he had a light, according to police. The man reported that when he said yes to the passenger, the man exited the van, pointed a handgun at him and demanded his phone and money, and took his Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone valued at $300 in a cell phone case valued at $29 and $1,300 in cash, police said.
A MAN REPORTED he was robbed at about 2:55 a.m. Monday, May 15, in the 3900 block of West School Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old man reported that two men approached him and one pointed a handgun at him and demanded his possessions, while the other man took his book bag and both men entered a black 4-door Honda Pilot in the alley driven by a third person, according to police.
A TEENAGER reported that two men robbed him at about 11 p.m. Thursday, May 11, in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 15-year-old teenager reported that two men approached him from behind and told him to empty his pockets, and he gave the men his cell phone valued at $175 before the men entered a gray Pontiac truck that was being driven by a third man and they all drove away, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3700 block of North Lowell Avenue was burglarized between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, and 4 p.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a window on the second floor had been opened and that a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer, a Samsung tablet computer with a credit card reader, a Canon camera, two employee identification cards and a lock box containing three birth certificates, three Social Security cards and other documents were missing, according to police.
A COUPLE reported that their home in the 3700 block of West Addison Street was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that the rear door was unlocked and the front door had been opened, and that a wallet containing a driver’s license and Social Security card, clothing valued at $2,500, three watches valued at $1,500, an Apple iPad valued at $500 and $100 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man attempted to break into his residence in the 3500 block of North Keating Avenue at about 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he heard someone knocking on his front and back doors and that after he heard a loud noise from the front porch, he saw a man pry open the front window, break the locks on the window and place his head inside the open window, and that when the man saw that he was armed, the man fled, entered a white Oldsmobile vehicle with no front license plate and drove away, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 3000 block of West Gunnison Street was burglarized between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a basement window had been forced open and that a pair of glasses located on a countertop had been broken and lock box containing his passport was missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS charged with a felony count of unlawful possession of a handgun following his arrest at about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the parking lot of Papa Ray’s restaurant, 3208 N. Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of a man with a handgun and saw a man matching a description in the parking lot of the restaurant, and the man was arrested after the officers discovered an unregistered 9mm handgun in his right coat pocket and three live .22-caliber rounds in his right pants pocket, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Robert Mejia, age 41, of the 900 block of North Kedvale Avenue.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 12:55 a.m. Saturday, May 13, in the 6200 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that changed lanes without using a signal and crossed the right of the center lane with both passenger-side tires, and the driver was arrested after the officer observed three open bottles of beer inside the vehicle, smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath and he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Nasanbat Dashpuntsag, age 35, of the 8500 block of West Gregory Street.
