A MAN WAS charged with murder after he allegedly fatally shot a man at about 10:50 p.m. Monday, May 16, in the 4300 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that they saw a man get shot and run across the street before he collapsed, according to police. Officers found the suspected shooter based on the description that was provided in the 4400 block of North Kasson Avenue, police said. The shooting allegedly was connected to a drug deal, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Larry D. Russell, age 30, of the 7700 block of South Jeffrey Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that a man fired a gun at his car at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that as he was parking his car he saw a group of men who told him to come near and that one of them fired a shot that broke the back window of his 2006 Jeep, according to police.
TWO MEN reported that they were robbed at about 1 a.m. Thursday, May 12, in the 4700 block of North Lawndale Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 26-year-old man reported that two men approached him and one of them displayed a handgun and the other took his cell phone and $100 from him, according to police. A 33-year-old man reported that as he was walking by and saw the incident the men ordered him to the ground and took his wallet containing $25 and credit cards, police said.
THE OWNERS of the Our Food Store, 3901 N. Kedzie Ave., reported that a man attempted to rob the business at about 2:15 p.m. Monday, May 16, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 44-year-old woman reported that two men entered the store and one of them displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to police. The woman said that she shouted for help and her 50-year-old husband chased the men out of the store, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that RN International wholesale store, 3909 W. Lawrence Ave., was robbed at about 5:50 p.m. Friday, May 13, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that a man entered the business, displayed a handgun, ordered people to the floor and took $1,200 in cash, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in an alley in the 4000 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that two men approached him and took $20 from his wallet, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 10 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in the 3200 block of West Foster Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old woman reported that a man attempted to grab her purse and then punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into his home in the 4800 block of North Hamlin Avenue at about 5:05 p.m. Monday, May 16, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man reported that a man entered his home and took 37 pills of oxycodone and 10 pills of alaprazolam, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a bedroom window was broken and that two wedding rings valued at $500 and $146 in cash were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4200 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, and 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that three television sets, a speaker, a digital video disc player, two desktop computers, a router, a printer, a necklace, two bags, a purse, a chain and an antenna were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
RESIDENTS reported that their home in the 4200 block of West Jarvis Avenue was burglarized between 5 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Saturday, May 14, according to Lincolnwood police.
A woman reported that while she was washing laundry in the basement and her husband was watching television in the home’s rear enclosed porch, she heard footsteps upstairs and that when she went upstairs she discovered approximately 35 to 40 items of gold jewelry valued at $55,000 were missing from her bedroom, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized while it was parked in the driveway of his home in the 7000 block of North Cicero Avenue between 10 p.m. Thursday, May 12, and 7:20 a.m. Friday, May 13, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he discovered that the sunroof valued at $800 and a Pioneer compact disc player valued at $1,000 were missing from his 1995 Honda Civic, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man shoplifted items from the Chicago Locker Room store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, May 5, according to Lincolnwood police.
The employee reported that he saw a man looking at clothing and that he discovered a shirt missing from a hanger, according to police. Surveillance footage shows the man place four shirts, four pairs of shorts and a baseball hat valued at $251 in a shopping bag and leave the store without paying for the items, police said.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man put several clothing items valued at $499 into a shopping bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police. The man provided a false name and birth date to an officer, and he also was issued a citation for obstructing identification, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as David L. Milton, age 46, of the 6400 block of North Richmond Street.
